Have just bought DEIW and i cant start it. It has installed correctly and runs fine up too the point when you press play and then it just runs and runs and runs and eventually comes up with the message 'unable to authenticate original disc within time limit' and when you press retry it staes that i need to insert original disc and not a back up copy. Its not a back up copy but the original disc that i am using and i even went out and got a new p.c to play it on!!!!  My p.c is an pentium 4 2.8ghz with 512mb ram and a Nvidia geforce fx5200 128 mb ram. Please help a frustrated soul!

I know this is a typical answer, but have you updated the drivers & got the patches?
If you have two disc drives you mite try the other one, it cud be something as simple as that.
From what I can tell this game is a pain in the ass to get up & runnin But stick at it.
If you still cant get it to work, send an email to the official tech crew and bitch at them til they help.
P.S. If your lying about the game being an original copy, u mite try a no-cd crack. Personally I want to pay for the game, please note I only reserve such thoughtfullness for games i feel are worthy. :ebil:

lol, i just tried installing DEIW about tens mins ago and i actually managed to install it! ... but when you click on start game it just comes up with a black screen and goes no where! i didn't really expect it to work. i'd already bout the game once, though stupidly the dvd version since i'm in the uk, but i dont have a dvd drive! my own fault really. so my mate sent me a 2 cd version that should work, but now look whats happened! just get a black screen!

Meh I have almost the exact problem myself. Except that in my case I can install the game fine but apon starting up the game, 5 seconds after starting any level I get booted back to desktop. I`ve tried every idea I could think of (upgrading drivers, changing settings etc) with no luck :(.
Biggest waste of money I`ve ever experienced :(.

Are any of you unfortunate enough to have a geforcemx card?
Also its supposed to work well with a Radeon 9000
