adam gets almost killed during attack on corp he works for - gets prosthetic limbs - asks questions.
Alright, so it's simply about revenge then? I felt like I'd missed something considering that the trailer was trying to convey it as epic. I'm not really a big Deus Ex fan, so it feels strange comparing, but the original had a virus to set the world in motion. I think a lot of games have done that, but it's fairly effective.
I guess it just feels weird watching someone get so upset about how 'cool' and 'badass' their new arms are without seeing anything of the attack. I don't want to nitpick, and it's only a trailer, so I'll stop now.

I agree they should write more inspired, intelligent, and thoughtful monosyllabic dialogue, rather than dialogue which emphasizes stupid American angst.
Please elaborate on what you mean by "stupid American angst" and what lines in the trailer are an example of it.
Though I'm American, I've never heard of that particular flavor of angst before.

yep, it looks like revenge that leads into a greater conspiracy and maybe an plot-twist where you discover the ppl you are working for are ACTUALLY EVIL !!!!! * gasp *
I'm sorry, it's stupid to constantly mock the voiceover of DX:HR's trailer considering I could do it the same way with DX1 but I just can't stop getting those lines out of my head. robo trucker dude is just so out of place, he should be in SeriousSam or DukeNukem.
I'm already on "damage-control" mode after those trailers and I don't expect much so I guess I will enjoy this anime, aehm game.

Dude, you might as well mock every trailer that has ever come out, ever.

A bomb!
Seriously, this is getting mighty stupid.

I think that's the point. "OMG SUPRIEZ! TEH PLOT IS IDENTICAL TO DX"...which would be a bit of a let down.
At least they mixed it up a little in DX2 by making
everyone you could possibly work for be assholes to greater or lesser degrees.
mothra on 15/6/2010 at 16:00
yep, that was my point. just another vibe I got from it. but disecting and speculating is mute, where is the E3 gameplay I hoped to see ? punchy-punchy-staby-staby ?
SubJeff on 16/6/2010 at 00:46
E3 isn't over yet you insufferable peasant.

Or Guther Herman from DX1. All he needs is a skull gun.

Criticizing Deus Ex for its flaws is legitimate, Deus Ex was far from being perfect, but in the end it is rather pointless because its gameplay was interesting enough to make us forget about those flaws. In the case of Human Revolution, it looks like its gameplay will be like the average console shooter (I'm guessing Rainbow Six Vegas' gameplay is the real model), which won't be enough to keep our mind busy.
