Those shots don't look half bad IMO, though they went a bit overboard with the orange (or yellow or gold or whatever) filter.

I'm still waiting for actual gameplay footage but this is looking great so far :thumb:

Yeah, the tech level doesn't make a ton of sense, but the other option was for it to look like a dirty version on 1997 except dudes have robot arms. I'll go with this.

Bleh, 3rd person cover and kill moves. But other than that some good looking stuff in there. I'm very curious to see some stealth gameplay footage. 'Cause yeah, I guess those screens popping up give some pretty good odds for seeing some of the actual game at E3.

well, as far as trailers go: images are very good, narration that gets overlayed with onscreen text....is odd. hinted story is even odder, the voiceactor is good but the lines he got are .... ughh. gits, blade runner, anime-style check ! gotta bring in those fans. techlevel, architecture look way off the DX mark so .... whatever, they don't call it DX3 anymore, so what the heck. if they pull all this off in a game and let me play my own style I might like it. but the writing sofar...ughh
gonna get the girl and kill the baddies ... and save the entire planet (and stomp some robots and bad-hair-80s-commando trucker dudes)
fun fact: MJ12 gets mentioned in Alpha Protocol as a nod to the fans
PS: those pictures, what is it about the 3rd person shots ? still in that you switch to it in cover ? bleh

Nitpick: (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majestic_12) MJ12 is a fairly old and common element of popular tinfoil culture, mothra, Alpha Protocol mentioning it need not necessarily be a nod to Deus Ex. Unless there's some more specifically related context in there. Spector did mention it in an interview or the DX Bible, I don't remember exactly where, that they deliberately went after integrating some real-life popular conspiracy theories to make the setting and plot of DX feel more familiar to players.

Yeah Majestic 12 has been around for a long, long time. In Alpha Protocol it's probably a X-Files reference if not older.
mothra on 5/6/2010 at 01:16
nope, dx reference, comes out clearly.

Yeah - and to me that's a pretty damning indictment. Can't judge these things on trailers of course, but this has gone downwards on my watch-list.
I think I see what you are saying, but this is by far the best game trailer that I've seen in a long, long time. In order for Square Enix/Eidos to sell this game, they need to make it look exciting. Why is that such a bad thing? Would you have preferred a slower-paced (boring) trailer that shows point-less moments from their game like almost everyone else makes?
Just not sure what could've ben better at this point. I think that their strategy here by making such an exciting trailer is great.
