DXHR Boss Guide:
Cutscene --> Equip stun gun --> Apply stun gun to boss --> cutscene.

So I heard... but I thought all stun weapons didn't work on bosses so I ignored that possibility on my first playthrough. Is it really you standing there and shooting the boss in the face over and over having him in a permanent stunlock?
That's even more retarded than the 100% pinpoint accuracy laser rifle fired from behind cover.
But not as retarded as using said rifle to skip 90% of final boss fight by just hiding and shooting through its shield...
Did you know that boss fights in HR were "outsourced"? That's what I remember reading somewhere. How bizarre.

No, 2nd boss tends to be
much easier all things considered. Bring a PEPS and maybe an anti-electric-shock praxis upgrade.
It also helps if the boss has a paralytic fit and just stands there as you shoot her in the head. This has happend 2 out of 3 of my play-thoughs.

Certainly Barrett was simple to kill that way. It's not a full stunlock per se - he stands immobile for a few seconds to let you shoot him in the face, then recovers enough to chuck grenades or melee you but his minigun stays offline for a few seconds more, so you can hightail it to another piece of cover. I'm told you can completely cheese it and hit him 25-odd times with the stun gun instead though.

I did, and to a bunch of self-proclaimed 'shooter guys' who didn't know much / anything about DX.

On "give me deus ex" you can stunlock every boss. Takes 10-20 rounds to kill them, I think it's different for each. The boss you fight while your augs are glitching out will start moving again before you're finished reloading but it doesn't help him much.

I played on Give me Deus Ex and could not stun Namir with the stun gun. Dunno why, maybe it got changed in a patch?
Fortunately, Namir is easy to beat. He likes to stay near the middle of the area and will only venture into the outer perimeter if you stand still and wait for him, usually by scaling the wall. So you can just keep running laps around the outer perimeter in no danger until you have his movement pattern down, then take him out quickly with a few well thrown 'nades. Or just keep running and taking opportunistic pot shots for 10 minutes. For novelty, I also tried dragging that turret from the courtyard all the way to the fight, but Namir never stands uncloaked in front of it long enough for the turret to do anything.
Fedorova was damn hard at first, but that's because I didn't know those power stations blow up and didn't know she could be stunned. I must have reloaded about 10 times before trying the stun gun. Once I figured out she could be stunned, it was cake. Just unload as many rounds as you can from the heavy gun into her during her first attack, stun her once, then toss two grenades at her while she's stunned.
Barrett was probably the most and least fun of the boss fights. Most fun because it was closest to a straight up fight with no tricks or exploits (I didn't know about the stun exploit at the time). But least fun because at first I was like WTF is a staged arena boss fight doing in a DX game, with scripted into no less. I got over that.
The last boss fight wasn't really a boss fight at all. There were 3 or 4 different ways to do the first part and they were all trivial. And then for the second part, you just stand around and wait... hum-de-dum... whistle... tapping feet until Zhao's shield drops and you put a couple bullets into her. You have to go out of your way to get hurt. I really think it was bugged. It's hard to believe they could have put all that design effort into the final showdown and end up with something so pointlessly trivial that every other level containing enemies was more challenging.

I never considered stunning any of the bosses. I just typhooned 'em all to death. With the exception of Barrett - I hit him with a few gas cylinders to disorient him first, and Zhao - I did pretty much as heywood described, which was take care of the human & bot enemies then just wait around til her shield dropped & then used the heavy artillery to blow her into next week.
Worked for me.
