Dia, this may or may not be a help to you, but see if you can't try to hack the central red core on the panel you need. This not only nets you the panel but all the bonus cubes too.
Fafhrd on 16/9/2011 at 19:54
I don't think the core is hackable on that one. All one-way connections away from it. I remember it being huge bitch to hack that panel, and I had to run around hacking everything I could find to stock up on Stop Worms and Nukes before I was able to do it.

The DX:HR Wiki used to say that the AUDs were not exclusive to the DLC. But now suddenly it does.

I don't know who to believe any more. Because there are people who swear up and down that AUDs can be found without the DLC. Only that they are much more rare. Instead of littered all over the place.
The confusion is because of the leaked build - it had the DLC items in it, both added to your inventory at the start and littered throughout the game. That caused some people (myself included) to believe the DLC just gives you the initial inventory items, but that they can be found later as well. However, this isn't the case.
By the way - as usual, all the zero day "downloadable" content items and the Tong mission are actually on the game disc, just blocked if you don't have the codes.

What Fafhrd said. I've gotten better at hacking, but still use codes when I can find 'em. Hacking is like lockpicking imo; it gets boring after the first half hour. Thanks for the advice though. I still miss my multi-tools VERY much!!
Right now I'm in Singapore trying to kill Namir (that Russian guy that looks like somebody skinned him). Talk about a royal bitch! I can't even see/walk straight & this guy's popping in & out & up & down and on top of that my augs have gone all wonky . This isn't fun - it's torture. Eliza was a piece of cake compared to this guy; all I did was blast her with my Typhoon aug two or three times & it was done (same thing with Barrett, though I did have to throw a few exploding barrels at him too). Dethy, I don't know how you killed Namir in just two tries! Half the time I'm just running into walls.
At this moment I really hate this game. So far I've felt that the game is seriously stacked against the player - even on the easiest setting; you don't get near enough stuff for replenishing your energy, not nearly enough ammo (or too much of the wrong kind), and the bad guys can see/hear you if you look crosseyed in their general direction. Kind of reminds me of Clear Sky. :p I've had to survive on my wits alone sometimes when all I really wanted to do was blow the shit out of those smartass guards (though I have to admit it did feel good to beat them on just one energy cell, little ammo & nothing to replenish my energy with).
I can say that I've got LOTS of credits, though.
But no place to spend them. :(

No, don't worry, I don't know how I did it either. (He's actually Israeli, by the way.)
You want a cheap way to finish him off?
A really cheap way?

I had to do some digging to confirm this was doable with the scam chip, but there you have it. Try to get close to him as he's climbing over a wall- in other words, watch him closely- and spam that takedown key until it fucking snaps off. Problem solved.
You'll have to get your timing just right, though. I think you have to do it before he's finished climbing over the wall.

You can also hack the turret in the courtyard, then lug it down to the boss fight room if you're so inclined.

I actually did this. The turret seems to get toasted in pretty short order but it does give Amir something else to shoot at besides you for a few seconds at the very least.
This is all provided you can actually subvert turrets and have the right capture level.

Wow - glad I never went to a Limb clinic to get that Biochip replacement!

It really preys on the gamer tendency to just do as the voice on the radio tells them to. So you could notice all the hints during your first trip to China, notice everyone reacting on your second trip to China, be well aware that this is Deus freaking Ex... yet you do it like a good little boy because uhhhhh Sarif suggests it might be a good idea, and what the hell, it's just down the street!
thrawn_121 on 17/9/2011 at 10:45
I decided it was a trap, but was sort of conflicted about whether I should get it done or not. In the end my curiosity about what getting it done would do won out, so I went through with it knowing it was a bad idea.
