Remaking all the models is a waste of time, IMO. Stick to the New Vision project and remake the world textures into much higher resolutions. That will have a much greater visual impact.

The models are all ready done, I don't see why they shouldn't implement them.

Because they look like something out of a Tim Burton movie?

Combined it will be even better. HDTP is working on weapons, too, which look a lot better than the originals. DX:R, HDTP and NV together will look awesome. Leave one of those out and it really won't work.

LMAO. I don't agree w/the Burton comparison, but they don't look right regardless. I hate the G.Hermann model.

I wish someone from HDTP would clarify exactly what the issue with the AI animations is. Last I heard, it was just a matter of someone painstakingly moving the animation slider and individually saving each frame, one at a time. Boring and time-consuming, yes, but not impossible (especially if you automate it with MaxScript). Presumably there's something else, but no one ever really explained it to those who aren't in the know about DX modelling.

Wow, way to be respectful. If you don't like it, don't use it - you don't have to be a dick about it. Who the hell are you to be criticising artists' work anyway?

I think everybody has the right to critisize an artists work, it's partly what makes an artist and also helps build things intended for the community!

Note that there is a difference between intelligent, informed, constructive criticism and being a twat. An example of the former would be "I don't like the Gunther model because...". Gunsmoke decided instead to say he hates it, giving no reason, and basically acting like a dick about someone's hard work.
None of the people behind HDTP, DX:R, NV - or frankly
any modification should have to put up with idiots like him. Luckily I haven't run into anyone saying that about NV - although frankly I thought that would be the same case for HDTP but I guess expecting gratitude from some people is too much to ask for. Thankfully most of the Deus Ex community isn't so fucking stupid, otherwise I wouldn't continue working on NV.
