Just dipping my toe into this forum. Totally loved this game. Played it in every possible combination. Just a little question here, are there any fan missions. :erg:

Many thanks Thesheep.
Will investigate forthwith. :D

While not a large list in any sense of the word, I'm sure it's longer than the list of completed projects for System Shock 2 ;) .
All the same (just like SS2) you can never satisfy your hunger for more.
All of those listed are excellent, particularly Carone, Zodiac, and Redsun.
Psst...hey...I got some more. :sly:
EDIT:(
http://www.planetwheeloftime.com/bigal/corruption/corruption.htm) Hints of Corruption is an fun mod. It may not be as good as Carone or Zodiac, but it has a good, concise story and a traditional DX look and feel.
This is a prequel episode to the original DX and you play as Paul Denton, like in Zodiac (the story is in not way similar, though). :)
(
http://deusex2.filefront.com/file/Der_Zeit_Mann_Mod;29102) Der Zeit Man (The Time Man) The story of a man from our time who is catapulted far into the future and right into the middle of a war between mankind and an advanced alien race.
(
http://www.planetdeusex.com/ziliphore/blv/download.htm) Blood Like Venom is okay, but kind of cheesy at times and I think parts of it rip off
Metal Gear Solid, but I'm not sure. Can someone confirm or debunk this for me?
There are quite few projects that were started but never completed...
(
http://deusex2.filefront.com/file/Break_In;15083) Break-in Part 1 takes place in an alternate universe. JC's a lawyer in this one (at first anyway). There's also mafia involved. You'll see.

Don't forget [N]Phase's brand new singleplayer missions, Omega volumes 1 and 2:

The mobs are hard to kill... if you're looking for a combat-challenge (instead of a more tactical-approach like the original game), then Omega is great. Otherwise, it will be very, very frustrating. I prefer tactical missions, but NPhase always puts out quality work, so even if you find it difficult, it's still worth playing just for the great map designs and details.
Since I mentioned NPhase's mod, I think it would be fair to include the others I've played:
RedSun 2020 is a long game, maybe almost 70% of the length of the original DX. A good effort, with a few obvious amateur bits; dialog in particular, is weak, and the plot takes a long time to get where it wants, but it's fun, challenging, and amusing at times, with lots of hard-to-find places which make it great fun.
Hotel Carone is great - the enemies are well-placed, the plot is reasonably good, and although the dialog sounds slightly contrived, Carone is such a good coder that it's easy to overlook.
I haven't had time to get into the Cassandra Project yet, but I'll do that as soon as my class is over. It looks very heavily produced - new menus, new speech, new augs, and the player plays the female protagonist. Looks very promising.
I have some other SP mods, if you want me to post them (just ask)... I haven't played them all, so I have no guarantees about their quality.

LOOKED, past tense. The (irritating) demo is all that was produced.

Apart from the fact that most players want more, what's irritating about it?

[Disclaimer: most of this is my opinion.]
It's irritating because you starting getting interested, then your interest flatlines when you realize there's no more.
Also because there's no much else to do besides talk, play the training exercises, and admire the shiny equipment.
Ah yes...the team, at least at some point it the process of the mission's development, realized they would never finish the series. Regardless, they went ahead and finished the first mission anyway. If I remember it right, one of the team members actually confessed this.
It's an excellent mission, but its purpose is substantially weakened if there's training but no mission.
More possible reasons for irritation and disappointment:
-Wanting to see if Gary the mysogynistic guard gets his guts beaten out of him, but never getting the chance.
-Wanting to knowing more about the mission and seeing where it actually opens, which brings me to the next one...
-Not getting to use the shiny equipment (without the killswitch engaging)
-The dreaded eternal cliffhanger
Once Director Beckett briefs you, you get your equipment, and ride of with Johnny Casino in his self-driving car in to the sunset with still not much idea what you doing or where you going...other than it's at mansion (maybe)...car's filled with smoke, the reality of the neverending cliffhanger sets in, got a half a pack of Coughing Nails, it's dark, and everyone's wearing sunglasses...DEBBIE says something...BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH
UOY LLIK YEHT EROFEB SYEKNOM EHT LLIK :eww:
YARGH
I'm lost in my own statement.
But the Cassandra Team should still be praised for what they were able to accomplish.
I'm done.

Aside from the demo being a waste of time because there's so very little actual gameplay, I think I would have found the never-completed full mod irritating just due to the writing style. It's like it's trying WAY too hard. Take your team as the prime example-- every one of them screams "Look at me! I'm a quirky character with a mysterious past!", and then proceeds to prove it by shoving a ton of backstory down your throat all at once. It's as subtle as a sledghammer dipped in rhinestones. Even the website is written like someone trying to show off for their acid-dropping college mentor.
