Ok heres some more pics of the strange and wonderful things that lurk
in the Canals level. (just where it meets with tonnichi road)
Noone know what Alien intelligence built them or what purpose they serve
but they sure spell doom for mankind. (don't they always?)
The Walls Of Eryx*
Taken from a short story about a man lost in an invisible maze,
here is an invisible chamber. I've put LAM's on its invisible walls
and flares across its top to show its extent, normally there would
be a chinese schoolgirl trapped in here, but she was killed in an experiment
to find if it has a top or not A.- It doesn't

I think the walls are here to hold her, they appear in a few other places in the game
most noteably the cathedral in paris at the small bridge at the start of the level (the one with MJ12 troops on it) you should be able to jump on the building roof, but cant due to one of these.
The Monolith**
Taken from 2001 this door sits here hanging in space, waiting for man
to find it. Rumors it caused the evoloution of man to augmentations, prove
unfounded. Could it have been built by the grays, or just left here by
the level designers?

The Hole***
A bit like the film of the same name, enter it and be trapped
it's difficult to see , but this hole is a shaft that descends some
depth before passing through some water then into a dry section
on the other side, once in it's too high to climb out (except using Lam's)
No idea why it might be here, although the texture is industrial and
matches those on the lifts in the MJ12 hangar.

*HP Lovecraft
**Arthur C Clarke
*** ? - I was hoping for Poe or Bradbury but there are no stories by this name just a movie or two.

Hmm, Liberty provides some interesting questions.
First time back, you cant climb over the compound wall
because an invisible lip keeps you down, you can however
climb the unatco HQ and jump over the wall, both invisible and non.
Once in the tower
* The entire back side is gone like mentioned in the article ferret posted
* When you reach the level with 4 entrances it is booby trapped with 2 Lams and Gas barrel also mentioned in the article.
* Beyond this you cant lam climb any higher, because of a lip on the building
* Fly beyond this and go up to the point with the pillars on the outside. (end of stairs start of ladders)
* Again you can go in, the ladders are no longer there but if you grenade climb up that wall then you'll find a Gas grenade boobytrap.
* the next set of stairs is blocked and you cant grenade climb because of another lip so again fly to the next level.
* This is the level where you first met the terrorist leader
* The grills at either side that kept you in the room are gone, however outside is a metal sheet to stop you walking round the outside ot this level.
* Grenade climb up on top of this metal sheet (Start on wall next to door and move sideways once past top)
* Now an invisible wall prevents you from climbing any higher, unless you crouch and walk to the corner, in which a space lets you climb up, (you could probably grenade climb invisible wall as well.)
[/list=1]
So does this mean the level designers expected someone to try and climb this high, or is it something left over from an unfinished idea in the game?
IF this isn't a convincing argument, how about this next time you return to Liberty island only walls that face you of the statue are real, everything out of your sight has been dismantled or removed, however on the second level of the statue there is a general supply crate containing a lockpick. now why would that be there?
