Midweek promo - go go go!!!!!
terrannova on 21/4/2010 at 17:07
It's an amazing deal. I own both games already, have the versions of them when they first came out, but now I'm playing with the idea of an easy Steam Deus Ex install that worked fine in Windows 7/Vista without tweaks.
Incredible deal.

Some people have had some issues on Win 7. I had a slight speed issue on my XP 64-bit dualcore that caused longer audio clips to cut short, and that caused JC to "accelerate" the longer I ran in one given direction.
Found this thread really helpful with their modified .exe - (

I'm really glad you posted that. I'm currently in the middle of a playthrough on my newly designated "gaming PC" (also XP 64-bit dualcore) and I've also been having trouble with the dialogue being cut off. Looked into it and found numerous suggestions on how to fix it, but nothing I've tried so far has helped. Didn't come across this .exe you've linked to though, so I could give it a shot. Thanks. :)
It's not just for the Steam version though, is it?

It's ... some of the Invisible War art?

you can use the deus ex launcher for steam and the retail version, I have both and started both with the launcher on win7 and it fixed the skips for me as well. also, I recommend the dxd10 renderer, also linked somewhere..

Yeah, but this looks new to me. All the other IW art has the main character looking like a shovel-jawed keg-standing freshman. Why does he suddenly look like a bionic owl with cheekbones?

I think I see what you mean, yeah (well, maybe not the owl bit :p). I shall investigate.

I believe that .exe that Steam uses is the same as the standard retail, so it should be fine.
