The biggest problem I have with the story so far is that it shouldn't have involved Adam. His story ended with HR and there's really nothing else to say about him. I'm honestly not sure who/what the protagonist should have been, maybe just some shlub working for TF29 (sort of like how JC is just a rookie at UNATCO).
(Actually, if it turned out Adam was actually a clone of Adam made by Versalife or something, I would buy into him being the protagonist again).

...why have you break into the bank twice?
Or more. I didn't even
do the
Versalife mission and I was giving that bank so much in-and-out that it should've been relocated to the red light district.
EDIT: In other news, the past-curfew subway loading cutscene is kind of hilarious. I was wondering what was going to happen - didn't expect that!

Just tried out DX:MR DX12 OLOL patch.
...didn't make a damn bit of difference, pro or con. The benchmark gives me 44 FPS with my settings using DX11, and 44 FPS with DX12.

You also have the benefit of extra screen tearing with DX12, since nVidia's adaptive vsync via the control panel doesn't seem to work with it yet.

I'm in what I assume is the third act (LOCKDOWN! for the Thiaf fans) and I've been to the bank once. Pretty sure I've done every mission but the Versalife one.
Something I've realized fairly late is that there's absolutely no reason to waste praxis kits on hacking, especially if you have the aug that lets you recycle weapons since you can basically make multi-tools whenever you need them (I have like 8 stacks of 999 crafting parts at this point). Also, for some unknown reason, multi-tools don't trigger responses in friendly areas where hacking would cause people to become hostile. That has to be unintended, right?

But you'd miss out on datastores!!!!1!!! Eh, yeah, I mean, isn't that fundamental to Deus Ex games in general, that there's more than one way to do things?
EDIT: Looks like I'm not going to get the "no-kills" achievement. I executed the mob boss. Because eff that guy.

Recycling (whatever it's called) + Multi-Tools is fine as an alternate way of doing things, I just hate that it doesn't trigger responses from nearby AI. It feels like cheating.

"That's it!?" is probably a reaction that like 99.999% players had after finishing this game. I knew it ends abruptly and it still surprised me how bad it actually is.
With that said, I still like this WAY more than HR. The big points for me are the main hub and side missions. I was genuinely invested in the optional stuff and characters. I just wanted to see what happens next rather than just doing it for completions sake which is great. Prague is a fantastic hub. Unlike HR hubs, this one has a proper size and a proper amount of content, not to mention it looks phenomenal. I enjoyed pretty much all of the missions (even the main ones, though to a lesser extent) and in all honesty, I like MD more than I thought I would. If they keep this up for part three... it'll be fantastic.
I don't really mind the small scale but I'm really disappointed with the AI reactions to all the non-combat things that you do. It feels like we haven't progressed a whole lot in those 16 years. Stuff like: an alarmed, clearly dangerous guy with a gun in hand does not scare the civilians or alert the guards... but if I knock him unconscious, everyone flips the fuck out. Somebody needs to advance non-combat AI. BADLY. Like, right now.
Oh, and the facial animations... or should I say, LACK of facial animations and a terrible lip-sync... How is this still acceptable in 2016? Last time I checked, HL2:E1 had way better animations 10 YEARS AGO.

that's why you wait a year or two for a platinum/mithril edition that will include all the dlc and have all the worst bugs fixed for half the price (a.k.a. what the game really should have been at the point of its release). standard procedure nowadays.
froghawk on 11/9/2016 at 11:12
Yeah that's not going to fix this game's main issues, though it's a nice idea. The rest of the story was saved for a sequel, not dlc.
