-Pre-order is up already... launched simultaneously with the game announcement and first trailer, before a date is announced or gameplay videos are released. Seems a bit premature...
"Hey remember that game you liked. Want to pay $60 now for a sequel we don't even know when we're going to release?"
I think I'll wait for a major discount on this before getting it. It's not like I'll shrivel up and die or anything if I don't get to ever play it.

Sounds like a Kickstarter pitch, really.

Oh man that trailer looks good and holy shit look at all those new augmentations! :D
I compared the credits listed at the end with (
http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/deus-ex-human-revolution/credits) the credits of DXHR and it seems to be all the same people, at least those in key roles. So... we can probably expect more of the same! Which I'm more than fine with. Hopefully the team can expand on what the first game did in some interesting ways. :)

This made my day.
I really like the screenie labeled BLADERUNNER in the RPS article. I hope we get that in the game.
Any speculation on the release date? I'm guessing late 2015.

-Looks fighty... VERY fighty, in ways beyond HR. But then again, there's no gameplay in this video, so let's hope they didn't alter the focus.
The DX:HR trailer was similar, lots of shooting, stabbing, explosions etc. but the gameplay was very balanced. I think it's just easier to make an eye-catching trailer like this than to have Adam crouching behind a crate for 5 minutes while waiting for a guard to turn his back.

I went back and watched the gameplay trailers for Deus Ex and Deus Ex:Invisible War hoping to make some kind of point. Holy cripes. Scenes of waiting for progress bars. Points for honesty, I guess.
EDIT: "The year is 2029." I hope that's the setting and not the release date, lol.

You're making a mountain out of a molehill. Most retailers seize any and all opportunities to take your money ASAP. This has been gaming retail industry since at least the 1990s.
Anyway nobody is holding a gun to head and forcing you to pre-order anything.

Aside from heavy X-men overtones, the narrative is looking to be shades of grey to me. You see a cyborg boy that Jensen saves from tyrannical "racist" cops, but later he's shown to have become a terrorist who's bombing the innocent. THAT is how RPGs should be written, because real life isn't black and white either.
Reminds me of the excellent New Caprica arc from Battlestar Galactica.

Just make the gold bling bling filter optional this time and I am so on board. <<< smiley with augmented vision

It's interesting that they created all this action, but managed to give almost all of it context, sometimes multiple layers of context.
