Interesting + funny with all the Da Vinci and the annotations

Is it true that the date 202X has been erased in later versions?
van HellSing on 13/8/2008 at 17:54
It was 2027, and yes, it's no longer there.

Either that was just a placeholder date and they decided it won't actually be set then (and then either it's not a prequel, or it is at a different time), or they themselves don't know yet and don't want to commit to details that aren't set in stone yet, or they have the details and the date is right but just don't want to go public with it.
Unfortunately the absence of information really isn't much information. :erg:

Now that I think about it, even though Deus Ex has always been an intellectual wank fest, I get the feeling that they might have been trying to ride the wave of the Da Vinci Code's success.

There's more references in the trailer than just Da Vinci, and all are related to the human body and transhumanism in some way. Note that all of the Da Vinci stuff that appears in the teaser are his anatomy sketches.

Always a pleasure to read youtube comments of retards. DX has great fans for being, as Raven puts it, an "intellectual wank fest". :laff:

I like Deus Ex for being an intellectual wank fest, at least they were trying. As overt and ham fisted as it was, I did enjoy the game ending with your choice of quotes from Milton, Voltaire, and Kahlil Gibran. :thumb:
