Maybe I will give it one more go, if only to use the skull gun :P
There isn't one. :p

Actually with the shifter you can get a skulgun canister from laputan machine. It kinda sucks though, but getting it is so fun.
Shifter also adds a electro-static discharge that fries electronics, which is awesome :ebil:

Sam, I can't think of anything there that should cause a problem. I've run Thief 3 on the latest drivers, and I use the same operating system. Might be something to do with your processor (although it's not a Dual Core thing since mine works fine).
Thanks, with Thief3 I didn't have any problems as well, but then I was running that on my old machine.. Maybe it's AMD's Dual Core optimizer interfering which makes Powerstrip crash every once in a while, for instance. Or maybe it's an issue with the demo that's running on an older code than the final game.

Possibly, although they didn't release many patches for it. The newest one might fix it - but there's only one way to find out (it's not like it's expensive anymore).

We really need to add some verbiage to the new-user registration screen along the lines of "No, your NAME, not your e-mail address".
Although I'm sure "Hotmai" is a perfectly pleasant place to be from.

+1 to original poster
I don't mean to sound reactionary or irrational or anything but for me the game is unplayable too. I have a copy sitting right here in my CD waller that I have probably installed on no less than half a dozen occasions, every time I ended up uninstalling in in disgust after 5 minuets.
The thing is, I really want to play it!! I just cant bring myself to do it! I kinda even wish I played IW first, I am sure in its own regard its a perfectly good game, but the simple fact that my mind is forced to see it as the sequel to Deus Ex just breaks it for me.
Maybe I will give it one more go, if only to use the skull gun :P
But I will officially be renaming the .exe and instillation dir to "Eidos's Invisible War: a Deus Ex spin-off" to make it a little more palatable to my brain.
Just play the game. You'll never really know how good or bad it is if you don't play it.
And you do want to finish out the storyline and get closure, right? I watched the Star Wars prequel trilogy for that reason alone. And IW is a better follow-up to DX than the Star Wars prequels were to the original trilogy.

Yes, thats a fair point, but note even bad moves are quite easy to watch as all you have to do is "sit there". Video games, by their nature, require a certain level of player interaction and absorption that can make a game quite hard to play at all if your state of mind is constantly being broken by loathe and anger. I could quite easily sit and watch somebody else play it :P

Okay, this just made my day. :laff:
But anyway... my feelings about IW are not quite as extreme as the topic poster, but they're close. On the whole I didn't feel angry so much as depressed. It didn't help that all the possible endings to the story were not anything I would remotely be in favor of. :nono:
