Deus Ex 2 - Invisible War problem: no textures, effects or fonts - by <Username>

Deus Ex 2 - Invisible War has been on the list of games I want to play sometime for years now. Last time I installed the game, I encountered a number of problems: Textures or effects ingame did not show, so all objects in the game were displayed as grey polygons. Fonts didn't seem to load correctly either, since none of the menus had text. I only could start the game by blindly clicking on crudely rendered rectangles.
I am aware of the patch to version 1.2, but it apparently only solves performance issues and some problems with NVIDIA GeForce FX 5950 cards.
Is this a known problem and does a solution exist? Searches on the topic didn't turn up anything.

Disable your anti-virus and reinstall game.

Make sure your video card meets the shader model requirements.

A quick Google search confirms that it does. The Google search you should have done before posting.

..or exclude the install folder in your antivirus. I've had the same problem with DX:IW v1,0. I'ts working.

How do you know he didn't?

The card supports shader model 2.0. Invisible War requires 1.1. It fits the requirements. QED?

Thanks, I'll do that.
