I like it too, but maybe you could integrate the search-field with the top blue bar (and I agree with NH about using only the swirly part or make the swirly part standing out more than the bar). I think moving it, would let the header "breathe" more lightly (the header-text gets too obscured by the search-field).
I like it how you've moved/copied the login to the front page. I have long missed it there and I shouldn't have to visit the forum parts to be able to login.
I could perhaps see some more game-specific images or backgrounds (unless that would make it look less clean (and I like the cleanness of your design)). For starters, maybe the bulbs could be replaced with game-specific icons. Maybe a (faint looking) background image behind the main text... or not? Too clean is better than too cluttered, in my humble opinion.

That's pretty darn awesome.

Yeah, I think it uses the space the best so far.

In a "blind" taste test of all the site designs my gf chose my one last, so I was gonna pull the plug. I'm glad I posted it now :D Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll see what I can do to implement it.

Nice design there Atchoo, it uses the space very well. I would however spice it up with more artistic banner, maybe something to show the games this community is based on. Also some modern site design elements like glass effects and fading would be great, look at (
http://www.gog.com) GOG.com for what I mean :).

Yeah, a few more embellishments along the lines of the robot across the TTLG games would make that pretty bang on.

...nothing overly busy though. Clean and simple is best.

Agreed.
And don't forget the flashing gifs.

I would go for a more vintage look. I think that GOG-thing looks too modern for the games we mainly discuss here. Modern site design with a vintage twist?
