I think the design I've been playing with has ended up too boxy and without enough focus on the hosted sites, but I don't want to just scrap it :p
Not bad, but the logo over the words over some shit is outdated and overly busy.

As for filling out the content on the front page, since a lot of TTLG.com news and content is 'generated' by forum buzz, will threads be admin-promoted to the front page, or is the idea to have it automatically generate based on thread popularity? I like the idea of humans cherry-picking the prime stuff.

Focusing more on layout than graphics (which is what we should be doing), Atchoo's design is the most appealing so far. We should be thinking about the best way to display the information we want to present first, then worry about how dark it should be and what lighting effects should play across the text later.

If you're going to have the feed-editing, why not have it along the left sidebar as there's only the forum list there and after that it'd be pretty bare.

The looping embedded midi doesn't seem to be starting up for me, is this a browser issue

That is a very nice design Atchoo! :thumb: My favorite so far.

Atchoo, your last design looks great. It's focussed on the core lgs games, while still looking classy.
As far as content for the main page goes, I also like the idea of admins promoting forum threads to the main page (assuming the admins have the time). As well as advertising the forums to newcomers, this would provide a service to regular ttlg'ers, who may otherwise miss some interesting threads.

I too would like to say that latest one of yours looks fabulous Atchoo.

oh please no
no flashing gifs, no gifs that move to draw the eye to subjects of interest and unless it can be turned off please no music
I find sites with these features to be intensely annoying especially if I can't disable them
pretty please
aside from that the layout of Atchoo's design ((
