So, i'm going for an adventure around Zafirbel Bay (best place EVAR for Apothecaries - marshmarrow and saltrice in abundance), and stumble across this Tel Fyr place - a pretty twisted place at that (seriously - WTF? This 2000 year old wizard guy who keeps Corpus victims in his basement, and clones wives/daughters as "something to do"). But anyway, I stumble across this lass called Delyna Mandas, who wants to escape. I agree, and we both walk out of the place. She gives me some pendant, and tells me to find her father - Arethan - and give it to him. Except she doesn't know where she is, but thinks some other guy called Athyn Sarethi will. So I track him down in Ald'ruhn (whilst on some Thief's Guild business), but there's no option to even discuss Arethan Mandas. So I have a look around the place, and all I can find is this "Suspicious Ash Statue". Being described as "suspicious", I just had to steal it. :p
Now i'm sure most of you are familiar with most of the above, but my questions are thus:* Why can't I discuss Arethan with Athyn? Some sort of bug?* The "Suspicious Ash Statue" - part of some other quest? Should I keep it?* I've figured out from other threads that Tel Fyr is linked to the main quest somehow - have I buggered anything up by going there too early?[/list=1]I've read a couple of old threads describing how to find Arethan - but i'd rather figure it out on my own through the game.
Cheers,
Stainboy.

Why can't I discuss Arethan with Athyn? Some sort of bug?
First, you have to talk with her grandfather in the Grand Council Chambers in Ebonheart. He's the guy in full Dwemer walking about the first level and one of the staircases. Halk with him about his granddaughter and he'll start the topic "Arethan Mandas" and give you an Ebony Closed Helm. Then go to Milk (I can't recall where it is exactly, but try searching the area around Maar Gan... You might try asking Sarethi if you're completely lost) and talk to Arethan, somewhat deep in the cave. Then go to Sarethi to complete the quest line. And if you're wondering, yes, this is a Redoran quest.
The "Suspicious Ash Statue" - part of some other quest? Should I keep it?
If you're talking about the one in the manor outside Skar that was overrun by Corpri, that's part of a Redoran quest. If you're thinking about doing that quest line, you should set it in the Temple or in the Moryayn Quarters inside the Redoran Council Hall so that you can access it. If you're talking about the one in Sarethi Manor, same thing there. Put it in the Temple or the Sarethi Guard Quarters if you want to complete the quest involved.
I've figured out from other threads that Tel Fyr is linked to the main quest somehow - have I buggered anything up by going there too early?
Only if you've pissed off Fyr by killing one of his "daughters" or a Corpri in the Corprusarium. If you killed the Corprus on the Dwemer machine, you're screwed in the worst possible way, because you can't complete the main quest normally or through the backpath.

i visited fyr too early as well... it is not a problem if u don't harm any living thing in the tower (including the corprus beasts) bacause it would be a problem if u make fyr hate u... just obey the rules he declares...
i also had nearly the same problem about that girl... i helped her, then neither the grandpa, nor Athyn Sarethi seemed to recognise me...i had no hope anymore... after a long time, by chance, i just came across the entrance of Milk...and just dropped in, then i've found the man there (avoid killing him at first sight just because he is wearing an ebony set) and he accepts the locket, and tells u to visit Athyn... so if the same thing happens to u, go directly to milk... although u don't get anything from him... he just gets happy... but before going to milk, try talking to grandpa of course...
by the way, milk is on west-nortwest of ald-ruhn...not too close actually... it is just on the line (of hills) that seperates ashlands and west gash... close to bal isra...south-west of it...
