Dell laptop seems to have a bad "mini card" and won't go online... - by operaghost

The laptop I'm looking at is a DELL with Windows XP SP2, and it's working fine aside from the mini-card. There's an application in the startup menu named "Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility", which will not run. The Device Manager has the Yellow explanation points on every piece of hardware in the "network adapters" category. I tried connected a network wire into the computer, and it still would not get online. It seems to be the hardware, but what exactly is a mini card? How easy and costly would it be to replace it?
I tried disabling all of the network stuff, then I loaded a driver CD for a Wireless USB network adapter, and the computer failed to detect the adapter, and going into Hardware Settings has yet another yellow explanation point in "Network Adapters".

Does anyone know how to remove the mini-card? I believe awhile ago, a customer service rep said the mini-card was bad. I have no idea how to get to it though, I don't see any doors which expose the mini-card.

Hi opera
I can help you, what model dell laptop is it..?
The yellow exclamation mark means the driver isnt installed, so once I know what model it is I can tell you what driver you need.
