Apparently it's now possible to delete a post even when posts have been made after it. Any way to disable this? Seems to have far more potential for mischief than any legitimate use.

It has always been possible to delete your own posts, regardless of whether they have been replied to, there are no plans to change this.
It should not be possible to delete threads you have posted under any circumstances. If you are able to do so then something is awry.

So...how do you delete posts then....? If I'd known I could delete my posts I would have done that a while ago with some of my.....earlier....posts...

After discovering it was so simple I have a strange desire to delete my previous post.....how did I miss that button....

Ah, my mistake then. I must have been thinking of this feature on another forum.
It is quite irritating when you respond to someone, then they delete the post you responded to, leaving you looking like a crazy person. Well... more crazy than usual.

Are you suggesting that everyone compulsively use quoting even when it's not necessary, for no better reason than the possibility that some clown might delete their post?
