Restated in plain English: I am going to buy this game even though it is shitty. DOOS EX creators will see this and continue producing shitty games because people like you buy them.
Oh ffs.
Go be someplace else.

I wouldn't put it exactly like that, but...

Well, curiosity got the better of me and I coughed up for it. Probably should have done some research beforehand as I didn't realise it was a stand alone episode. TBH, the thought never occured to me as it strikes me as the stupidest decision they could have made. A section of the DX:HR story that takes place during the events of the main game, that involves the main character but has no effect on the actual plot or progression of the remainder of the game.
Ludicrous.
Still, it's of the same quality as HR so if you liked it then you've got about 6-7 hours more gameplay, but it's just daft that it's not integrated into the actual game itself.

It isn't?
Well why the fuck not? That's stupid. I'll grab this when it's cheapo then.

How could it have an affect on the actual plot and progression of the game unless they left a huge plot hole in the game? I'd be way more upset if the game couldn't stand on its own and required the DLC to complete the story.

Given that your gear and augmentations are taken away, that's a pretty big disconnect between the end of the Missing Link and your arrival in Singapore. Sure you can get more guns and praxis kits, but it's not going to be the same as what you had before.
Plus there's bits in ML that releate to the Hyron Project which Jenson simply forgets about when he reaches Singapore. It's just shoddy. Unlike the Tong DLC which is a seemless integration, the ML episode just feels more like a very well put together non-canon fan mission.

I completed it yesterday evening and for my (I believe) first DLC for money I consider it not bad.
My main complaint would be about the few interactive dialogs that felt like the outcome was preset and you could only add a little flavor by choosing responses, instead of steering the conversation and possibly deny some outcomes - like in the main game.
I got less than half of the achievements - As I probably wont go through it a second time, I watched the remaining ones on youtube. Seems like I wasn't exploring enough. But standing in front of that screen and Hacker going "In this room, you can save only one..." I knew there ought to be a third option. But didn't know where to look.
There are two loose ends I was hoping someone from you perhaps could answer me:
* The one prisoner you have a chat with, I'd have hoped at least to reassure her after coming back from the doctor. But she was gone by then. But, with the gas announcement, that probably wouldn't have worked well.
* What about the trauma kit you find next to the doctor? It showed up as quest object but nowhere to be used. I'd assume perhaps to 'help' that woman on the bed, but she wouldn't respond.

You can use it on her, but you have to wait for her to stop talking. I have finished the DLC twice: once I saved her, once I didn't. There was no difference between the two that I noticed.

Heh, the first item right now in Steam's news section for HR is a Kotaku article advising NOT to buy the DLC.
I'm on the fence. It sounds like it's basically 6-7 hours of the same stuff. Not sure if I want to fork over $15 for that... maybe $10.
That, and Skyrim will be here soon.
