What the heck do the weird codes for damage (like "2d8") mean? I just started Neverwinter Nights and it has the same thing. Is this a D&D reference? :confused:

Yes. It means damage is calculated by rolling two virtual 8-sided dice. So damage is between 2 and 16.
But what is a Neverwinter Nights thread doing here? Shouldn't this be in General Gaming?

This is an Arx question, I just mentioned NW because it has the same damage code. This is the first time I can recall ever seeing damage written that way in a game. I've never played D&D so that stuff is new to me.
