im doing a quest for the fighters guild in vivec and i have to colect 2000 gold off this chick in ald'deun (i know incorrect spelling) and when i speak to here she says her brother owed the money and that he died trying to find his fortune in this cave, so how can she pay something she dont have so i went to the cave and found his dead body took all of his dtuff and went back to the chick but she says nothing only the same as before so i talk to the guy who gave me the quest and says nothing ethier plz help ive tryed killing the chick but it dont work

It is a bit of a Good Samaritan quest–you will have to cover Lirielle’s debt yourself (although if you advance a bit deeper into Mallapi you will be able to collect enough loot to more than compensate your loss). If I recall, she has nothing new to say on the subject until after you clear her debt with Lobumol, and even then she doesn’t seem sufficiently grateful.

You pay it since your rich and have lots of gold.
It adds to your reputation which helps you later in the game.
