Dear TTLG administration, concerning Bikerdude... - by EvaUnit02

Bribing me with a chew biscuit huh..... :cheeky:
I don't recollect seeing any posts from ttlg staff on any my threads....
I appreciate this is a big site and there are more things to this forum than Thief, but one could compare the lack of response in the same way as Eidos/nVidia/Ati have ignored the Thief-v-contemporary gfx cards issue.

Are you posting your threads to get recognition from the staff or to help the fellow ttlg-ers? If the latter, why do you care about the lack of admin activity in them?
Or do you suggest they should post in every single thread on the forums just for sake of it? I know Dave twiddles his thumbs all day anyway and thus has time to forum-whore, and GBM does post just for the sake of it all the time, but that's another story. :p

eh...
In fact, you know what! I do have a problem.
I spend a lot of time working on people's thief related problems, and an untold amount on the certain nvidia/ati Gfx problem. Others and myself ask for it to be sticked yet all requests get zero response, not even such much as a "well look into it". Instead, another thread is started read into that what you will.
And then recently this thread was started and the response it got "we will pick the person we feel would do the best job". I`ll state right now I didnt ask to be a mod, nor had I any interest in it. I was initially humbled by the thread but the response from David was just a kick in the teeth.
I know taffers appreciate my help, but statements like the one above and the attitude of some people just make me feel like Ive wasted my time. Look what happend to Komag a while back, that was complete knee jerk reaction that was totally blown out of proportion.
So you know what, sod it, Im not - david/digi/whoever, just delete my account.

I did read the thread, but I was only referring to your last post, about the staff not posting in your threads. ;)

Stop this Bikerdude, many people appreciate you being here. Don't let a nice thought on someone's part blow up into some angry issue :/
The response David gave is the standard response given when someone suggests a member for moderator. I've seen the same response before to other such suggestions on this foum. Don't take it so personally.
A lot of us appreciate you being on here mod or not.

What kamyk is true biker man come on dude. Relax. People know what kind of time you do put in around here. Don't let a few of them make it bad for you. Not worth it. You love Thief, I surely wouldn't let others take that away from me.
It is flattering to be nominated if you will. Really, it is up to the staff to decide, that's how it is. Even on other forums, you don't ask yourself to be a moderator, or have others ask. Its up to the staff. They know who does what.
As for the staff itself, its the way they are. You can't please everyone, and they don't try to please everyone.
Its Thief and the majority of the people that you do know around here, and what you do around here, that in the end. Thats what really matters. You get pleasure and joy out of it, don't let them ruin it.
The rest is up to you.

Well, this explains a bit of the mystery of the melancholic ThiefGen threads. This can't be the real reason for it, though. Just more straw on the camel's back.:(
Take care of yourself, biker. If you need to let something go...if you need to take an indefinite break...
I can relate.
Do what you gotta do, but don't fool yourself into thinking you haven't been appreciated. And don't hide behind that as an excuse. You're obviously going through something, so...go through it; come out the other side. ;)
