ok, but I'm taking that as a 'yes'

I played the mod for about 15 minutes a few days ago after seeing that gushing article that RPS posted. I was too exhausted at time from lack of sleep to properly judge it.
One things for sure, it made sleepier. The narrator has a very soothing voice.

He's good, inne? Makes me wonder how such a zero budget production managed to get better voice talent than most aaa titles.

I dont' know what their budget was, but it wasn't zero. They got a grant from somewhere to make three explorations of experimental storytelling. Dear Esther was the second, I think, and they haven't done the third yet.

Also look out for two more mods coming soon: Conscientious Objector (Doom 3) and Antlion Soccer (Half Life 2 Deathmatch)

It uses the first three levels of the commercial game, stripped bare and repopulated, together with some custom code that stops the player from being able to kill anything. Sure, you can shoot the zombies all you like, and they will fall down.. it's just that they'll get back up again... On top of this, rather than being told you're great, like most FPS games, you've got an aggressive NPC on your case and in your ear, who'd like nothing better than to see you end up as a zombie's breakfast, and is going to let you know any chance he gets.
Oh Christ, fuck that idea to hell.
Also, (

Oh and Half-Life 2 is tied to a person's Steam account. Being signed into the same account simultaneously from two different IP's is not a good idea.
It's been a long while since I've had to deal with HL2, but I seem to remember there was a non-Steam version, wasn't there? Still, even if I have to use the guy's account, I don't think it would be too big a deal to coordinate with him for this, considering it would literally take me 5 seconds to get up from this chair and go headbutt his door to wake him up. And we're on the same router.

The genre also has a few examples of its' "Citizen Kane". Namely the games produced by a company called Type-Moon and writer Kinoko Nasu. Tsukihime and Fate stay/night are lovely pieces of literature/interactive experiences.
I am pretty sure if Citizen Kane fans would know what you're talking about they'd punch you.
In the face.
