That's the best obligatory snark you could come up with? Honestly? Your troll-fu is slipping.
It's Sunday, I think we've earned a little time off. Besides, the best snarks are the subtle ones -- explicitly spelling out that
losing your wife in a car crash is your idea of love life wouldn't have worked as well.

Oh dammit, is that what that was all about? I guess it must've gotten covered up by the LOUD SOOTHING MUSIC.

Jeez, man, there's a reason why I spoilered that. :(
And the music's not exactly what I'd call soothing, given the context.

Dear TTLG pedants: Thank you for providing additional material for my book (particularly, the penultimate chapter on Dear Esther). Some of you will be contacted with quote requests in a couple of come late January.
I would like to contribute to this conversation, but I think it's been pretty well covered. There are problems with all of the existing terms, but I'm not sure ZB's flippant categorization of "walking tour" is a good genre term in and of itself. Among other issues, it would group DE with the likes of The Graveyard, which has no narration/story whatsoever, and I think it's important to make a distinction.

Aww man, please, please tell me your footnotes will look like this:

They probably would, if I could get away with it. Alas, this project requires a certain degree of professionalism (moreso than usual, given that people will look for any excuse to delegitimize an academic work on video games). A few jokes will hopefully find their way in during the revising process, though.

I actually tried to see if that URL went anywhere. It just went to the top of the page. Incidentally, the topmost post is Eva's.

Dear Esther 2.0 is getting (
http://dear-esther.com/) a new website and a full commercial release - hopefully this summer.

They also deleted the old version from moddb. Fuck them.
