Well I finished the mission with the asteroid last night(chapter 7?). This game is properly kicking my ass. Recently I've had to run away from monsters more than just fighing them. Stumbling into an elevator with no ammo or healthpacks and only a sliver of health left as the monsters growl behind me, just a few steps behind. It's refreshingly difficult. :D And I'm only playing on medium. With a 360 gamepad for the most part. Although at a few sections/bossfights I've had to switch to mouse+kb for some extra accuracy. I'm using the Line and Force guns mostly. With the pulse rifle or plasma cutter for long range combat.
I love how the physical health of the player is reflected in the animation. I don't think any other games has done this quite this well since BioForge, back in the mid 90's.

So did any N-American TTLGers buy DS2 yet? Amazon.com is already selling it without the pre-order notice.
What strikes me as odd is that the PC version is slightly more expensive than the console versions on amazon.com while on .co.uk the pre-order prices show the PC version as considerably cheaper. Though unfortunately they don't sell the limited edition package it seems.

I'm going to Wal Mart today after classes to see if they got any limited ed's in. Gamestop/EB are sold out nationwide up here. Wal mart doesn't do pre-orders so I've still got a chance. I think there's still a FO3 collectors edition w/ the lunchbox at my nearest store.
If not. Screw it, Valve will get my money.
Then We should start a new thread.
EDIT: Except I'm half way through chapter 10 right now.. so I'll have to play the last 2 before starting it, which is going to be torturous and great at the same time.

It goes by fast when you've already done it twice, and you've kept all your upgrades. I'm kind of a tank right now. I'm literally wasting power nodes because I have nothing better to do with them.

I'm happy to inform you Steam copies don't work currently. Problems with serial keys.
Now anyone try and tell me Steam has "gotten better" throughout the years.

If its serial keys that don't work that's EA's fault, not valves.

Don't try to reason with vH, he's made a career out of whining nonstop about how Valve is infringing on his rights because he's Polish or something.

Retail PC version of Dead Space 2's available for a measly $30 here. God bless, EA. Bought in a heartbeat.
