It's called Charlie fucking Sheen.
I mean, you even get a glimpse of him in the mirror. He looks nothing like Football Asshole.

Total fun! I got through the whole thing with each character. Cool thing is I found out I could use my glitched character's progress to start a NEW Xian at that save, leveled to whatever the progress should be. Basically it stripped Xian of all items and started her at 32nd or 42nd level(don't remember exactly, but it was up there). I had tons of points to spend and grabbed a few later mods (Shredder and Deathstriker), then restarted at Chapter 1 to play with my friends now have it on the Xbox too.
I haven't tried out the DLC Arena yet.

Sure thing bobster, I'll add you when I get back to my gaming-PC on Sunday but seeing as we live on the opposite sides of the planet timezones and ping might get in the way of any reasonable games. I played a bit of the coop with Jeshibu last night, lots of fun. We loaded up juicepacks and drove in a convoy back to the hideout and then went to the hotel and stole a armored truck. It was a good time but also felt less tense and atmospheric than the singleplayer. Feels like there are pros and cons with both modes, probably best to play through the game once in each mode to get the most out of it.
Anyone else playing with a gamepad btw? I found it works pretty great for the melee and driving but I might switch to mouse+kb once guns come into the equation.
Also, anyone got tips for how to deal with the thugs? Best strategy I've found so far is to break their arms but they still manage to sneak in blows quite often. They were a lot easier in coop tho, when you can surround them and have the other player draw their attention so you can sneak in some safe blows.

Use something like a machete or long knife. Run up to them then jump back.
They tend to do a left right left swing and then pause.

I've been playing this over the last few days and it's rather good. Lovely open-world to explore, meaty melee combat and, while the tone doesn't match that of that trailer, it feels appropriately grim and grisly. My biggest issue is with the RPG elements as, thanks to level scaling, they don't really add anything and I think the game would be much better of without them. Looking around it appears there are a few mods that do indeed remove that stuff and rebalance the game to make it more like STALKER. Might give one of those a go.
Also, this is the first game I've played with a David Foster Wallace reference so big points there. :thumb:

Its not really an open world though, more like a series of branching corridors with an open feel, I really enjoyed my first few hours with this game then once I started playing mp I thought it became COD with tropical island beachyness.

Why isn't it an open world? Because the world is divided up into sections? In that case GTA3 and Stalker wouldn't be open world either because there are loading zones inbetween the areas. And yeah, switching from SP to MP defenitely alters the mood of the game.

I felt they added something, I almost always had my eye on another perk I wanted to pick once I'd leveled up. The ones that let you stomp heads and smash down doors without slowing down were particularly good. Most of the ones that upped your stats were quite meager tho. Like I'm gonna spend a hard-earned point on something like"+2% melee damage"? Pffffft.
After 26 hours I've finally come to the end of the game. The city was defenitely the highpoint, the jungle parts that came after dragged on a bit, then the pace of the plot picks up a bit and it all gets wrapped up with a bossfight, the terribleness of which outclasses even those in DXHR. Overall, I'd say it's a 8/10 game. Ambitious, with quite a few flaws, but nevertheless most of it is a blast to play. :)
Final batch of screenies...
