I'm really impressed by the trailer, especially the animations. The father in particular seemed very lifelike in his expressions and movements and it really heightens the impact of the scene.
Everything I'm reading about this game sounds great. Open-world, scavenge for supplies, first-person, emphasis on melee, zombies, four player co-op.

I sure as hell hope there's like HARDCORE MODE without XP, damage, achievements and other bullshit appearing on the screen. Also without the stupid as shit upgrades and powerup mode.
And I still don't know how I feel about every female/zombie survivor being in a two piece bikini

This is looking like it could be another Borderlands where the final game is nothing like the style of the early trailers. The game itself looks like Dead Rising in first-person.

Looks kind of interesting, but I agree that all the information floating around (damage, xp, achievements) ruins the atmosphere.

Agreed. I am weird about this, though it seems bulletproof as an idea.

The footage reminds me of Borderlands the most. I see that the Chrome Engine still has all its same old flaws, beautiful environments, but with blocky looking, awkwardly animated characters.

This game has been in development since ~2006 and is being released around October 2011. I really doubt that they'll be giving it a total makeover this far along.

Is there some sort of law that every other Polish game must have sexually juvenile content?

Don't see why everyone is reminded of borderlands. Except for the numbers floating around (which is total bullshit and needs to disappear from single player games forever, like right now) this seems to be closer to deus ex/boilint point. I don't understand why they even bother trying to make the game immersive with nice animations and effects when you get hit but then go and ruin it with such an intrusive interface. I mean does it even serve a purpose to see how much xp you get ? Is it really necessary ? I mean it makes sense in a diablo clone but not in a first person survival horror game.

I was thinking it looked like Far Cry 2 actually. Albeit with more weapon options and mostly melee weapons (so far).
I'm not seeing a whole lot of survival here. I'm seeing: go to this place, kill things on the way, get there talk to people, get more quests, complete objectives and so on. And not scary at all.
It could still be fun, but I think it was Dead State that sounded much more ambitious in all the above respects.
