Anyone heard about this upcoming zombie game,
Dead Island? Apparently it's a first-person game, but is more open-ended and emphasizes RPG elements and melee combat. Could be interesting.
Oh, and they just released a rather depressing announcement trailer:

The game itself might end up be pretty fun after all is said and done, but I doubt very seriously it'll live up to the standards set by what I saw in that link above.
Easily one of the best announcement trailers I've seen in a long, long while. Here I was expecting it to be a Dead Rising clone set on a tropical island. And then I see that tragic thing. Damn.

Man, that trailer is just kind of...intense.

Well, as much as a worthless piece of shit trailers which don't show any actual gameplay are, this one at least had some style. Though it could really be 1/3 shorter.
But to the point... a multiplatform FPS about killing zombies in bikinis? Made by polacks and published by germans.
Riiight... to quote one of the YouTube comments:

That is a very, very fucking impressive trailer. Simple concept, but executed well.
I know it's wishful thinking, but I want a game like what's in that trailer.

That trailer was awesome. I hope the game is at least half as good.

Holy sh... I thought this game was dead! It was announced waaaaay back and then suddenly there was no more news about it. Nice to see it make a damn fine comeback.

Well, I really liked the Chrome games that Techland created years ago, and I love the melee options in L4D2, as well as the tropical vistas in FarCry. This seems like it cannot fail. We'll see.
