I picked up Deus Ex (after years of thinking about it) and the game kept crashing and freezing my system. I copied the entire CD to a desktop folder and installed from there (as per several posts here) but when I try to run it it tells me to insert the disc even though it's already in the drive. Any ideas?

Dude you did installed from the HDD, if you erased the folder which contained the files, it's still pointing to the HDD, user.ini or deusex.ini i cannot recall.
Example
F:\DeusExInstall
Point it to your cd, or to the files in the disc (generally you should not remove them unless you are craving for space).
G:\
(your cd drive letter)

i'm pretty sure you can just type ..\ at the place where he said to change the cd start location to get things worknig.

Redirecting did the trick. Thanks.
One other thing, all my text has lines going through it and is often very tough to read. A previous post from 2001 suggested contacting tech support. Anyone else have this problem?
