For years, whenever I install T1, T2, or SS2, I have always installed DDFIX and patched the executable to use it. It has always worked.... until now...
I have an Athlon XP 2700, 1.5GB ram, WinXP SP3, fully updated. Video card is Radeon HD 2600 AGP.
If I install DDFIX in any of the dark games, it loads, plays the intro movies, shows the main menu screen for a microsecond and then crashes with the "...do you want to send a report to microsoft?" message.
If I uninstall DDFIX and unpatch the executable, the games run fine. the strange thing is that I have almost an identical pc right next to it. Athlon XP, 1 GB ram, WinXP SP3, fully updated, same video card (bought a 3-pack of them on ebay a while back). It works fine with DDFIX installed.
Are there things to check for when having DDFIX installed crashes the game? I'm stumped at this point...

Maybe the catalyst driver versions. In the past I had problems when I used drivers higher than version 9.4.

Set the resolution to 1024x768 and turn on safe mode. If that fixes the crashing then you have some chance of finding a combination of settings that work.
Also, if the crash happens in ddfix (and not the game exe) then post the address.

radeon HD+winxp=you have to use catalyst 9.4 or older. no exceptions.
