Well most people rarely do think about religion on their own. They let somebody else do the choosing for them...
Dawkins is mild compared to say Harris and Hitchens, but not even they can ever compete with the mad ramblings of the religious fundamentalists.
Oh I won't disagree with that what-so-ever. I'm just sick of people making a buck off the easily led-on. I'm a devout atheist (isn't that an oxymoron?) for many, many reasons, but you don't see me running off and writing a book about "Why I Hate God, But Love Soup", then charging for "seminars" where people can buy my book.

Well me thinks you haven't read the book. He makes very rational points on why religion is not needed, that our morality does not come from religion, why there probably is no god, how we pick and choose parts from "holy" books, how religion harms societies, divides people etc.. its hardly a book on "why I hate something that I don't think exists".

Of course I haven't read his book. I know religion is not needed; I know there is no God; I know that morality is subjective; I know that people shape religious scripture to meet their own "needs"--I know all that stuff on my own! So why the hell would I waste money reading a book about what I already know, and figured out on my own?
That's what I'm saying.
...am I that oblique?
