So here's the thing: Found the darts of judgement a long time ago, when I was looking for the Redoran Master Helm. Used them. Now I'm at the quest where Aengoth asks me to get them, saying that I can either sell them to him or use them myself. So I think, great, as I've already disposed of said darts ~10 levels ago. But I can't get him to give me any other jobs, and when I talk to him about the darts, he just tells me again where to get them, I assume because they aren't in my inventory.
The question, then, is can I get Aengoth to give me something else to do?

It's his last job, so no need to worry about lost opportunities (other than the gold/solved quest).

That's the only thing about stealing things......you might need it for certain quests.
I remember EARLY in the game, some chick wanted me to give her gloves to some guy that robbed her, but I was doing like 3 other quests and completely forgot about her quest and I sold them. LOL I went back and talked to her and she wanted to know what's up with the robber. I thought, "Oh right, the gloves....see about that..." :cheeky:
I met up with her recently, still wants to know if I deliverd the gloves. LOL!! GET A LIFE LADY!!! :laff: :laff: :D

Hehe, I know what you mean there.. I recently took a silt strider back to Ald'Ruhn and was immediately attacked by some guy, accusing me of trying to cheat him or something... I killed him in self defense, then looked at my journal... evidently I was supposed to deliver a shipment of weapons to him AGES ago and totally forgot about it. I'd probably had the weapons in my inventory for awhile, then at one point looked in my inventory, forgot what they were and sold them.
Ooops. :)
As far as the darts go, I imagine there's a way to recreate them using the console? (I don't know anything about the editor, so I can't offer further assistance there... and if you're on an XBox, you'll be out of luck.)

Ok, everyone, thanks for the advice!
(I am on a PC, so I suppose I could theoretically regen the darts, but
never having used the console, that seems to be more trouble than
it's worth, for something this minor. )
Anyhow, another question--went to Maar Gan, everyone was talking
about strange noises from someone's hut (Helende??)--went there,
killed the scamp, unlocked the dude downstairs, no harm done.
Went back to Ald'ruhn, talked to mage's guild steward, who said 'oh,
you fixed that! good, now I'm done studying, return this book to vivec'
So here's the problem--I never took the book from VIvec, that I can
remember, or find in my journal. SO.....where in the Vivec mage's
guild do I return it too? DOes it matter?

edit--who just realized she should search before asking another
question...and will do that and delete as appropriate...
edit #2--so a bunch of threads about how doing it this way allows one to skip a bunch of mage guild quests, but none on where to put the book. Thus, I'll assume it's not a problem where you leave it, though if I'm wrong, someone plz set me straight;)

Well, assuming you're gonna keep that save, the place to put the book is sirlonwe's chest. Sirlonwe's in Vivec's Mage Guild, just left of you if you teleport to there. The chest is in her closet, but it's locked; the key to the chest is on a nearby table though. Luck ;)

Yup, figured it out on my own not long after--went to Vivec, talked to Sirlonwe, noticed the book title in her topics list, and said to myself, hmmm......so went into her closet and chest (love the high sneak/security) and voila! There was another copy. So I managed to 'leave' one there and then still give one to Sirlonwe so she likes me too.
