Okay...I've pantsed Diego, flipped all the switches and jettisoned Beta Grove. But I can't find an elevator to get to level 7. There's one on level 6 that goes all the way up to 8...but 7 & 8 are ghosted out.

IIRC (big if), there's an elevator near the Master Jettison Enable Switch that goes to Level 7.

Introducing: paying attention to your surroundings and the automap.
Also, I'm pretty certain the only elevator up to Security (8) is on Engineering (7).

There is only one elevator leading from Executive (Lvl 6) to Engineering (Lvl 7), and it's located near the Master Jettison Enable switch, and Edward Diego's quarters.
Damn, writing about the game made me miss it. I guess I'll start a new run tonight :p

It's a work in progress. The problem is that I'm too afraid of the healing coma after fitting it into the brain. Many bad things can happen while you're asleep for six months.

You don't need to worry about that. We'll keep you on ice for a while in case we need you. Otherwise we'll just take you out.

No thx for the sarcasm, flexbuster, but thanks for the tip. You were right on that note, only one way up to level 8.
D'Arcy - that was the ONE elevator I didn't try out of every other one in the entire game (that I could get to). Thought it was broken. Oops! Beat the game and loved it. Even though it scared the tar outta me.

Yeah, I was more frightened during certain parts of SS1 than in any other game I've played.
Especially my first run through Beta Grove. Jesus. And Maintenance.
