I don't know what I've done!! But . . . I downloaded a free Winzip trial for some unearthly reason and it changed all my rars into winzips. I didn't want it and I uninstalled it but neither DL or GL will recognise Rar now - only Winzip. And obviously any new downloads are rars. I've tried creating a new fm folder with just rars in but they won't see them. I'm reluctant to reinstall rar thereby changing all the winzips to rars unless I know DL and GL will recognise them. Or will they see them if there's no other zip programme to confuse them?
I'm pretty ignorant about both DL and GL and zip programmes so don't have a clue what else to try and I haven't been able to find anything here or in TechHelp that's specific to this.
Any ideas anyone?

Its unlikely that its actually changed the files, its more likely that its simply changed the file associations which is why the icons look different. - which is nothing to worry about...

Thanks Biker - so are you saying that if I reinstall winrar and all the icons change back to rar icons, Darkloader and Garretloader will recognise them again?

yup, but there is a simpler way, just go into winrar, then options, then settings, then click on the intergration tab and in the top right of that tan you`ll see all the archive types that are registered..(the ones with a tick in the little box's)

Thanks for your help Biker and I've done that but it hasn't helped DL or GL see rars. I've tried reinstalling DL but it just doesn't want to know. It still only wants to see winzips. At the moment I'm kind of up the proverbial creek and won't be able to do anything with any updates for the 3 betas I'll no doubt be sent soon.
[Edit] Well luckily I've landed on the shore. I just went to one winzip file properties and changed it to open with WinRar and all zips changed to Rars and DL and GL are happy again. Which is a helluva relief.
