Ironically, I had fewer problems getting the base games to work on my Windows 7 x64 bit. It was when I attempted to add Darkloader to the mix that things got crazy...
The problem in a nutshell is this: With Darkloader installed, Thief Gold and Thief 2 "crash" at the intro movies. I start the game, and it immediately minimizes to the desktop. I can hear the sound from the Intro movies, but cannot get the game maximized again-- in essence, it's crashed. I tried installing Darkloader without the optional scripts...and got Thief Gold to work all right. But then Thief 2 did the whole crash-sort-of-to-desktop thing.
I admit, I'm a first time Darkloader user, so it's not impossible that I'm missing something very obvious. The vanilla games, minus Darkloader and with the affinity set properly work just fine. I'd really love to give some of the FMs a go, however, but have had no luck finding a solution to the problem.
Currently, I do not have Darkloader installed. If it needs to be installed so I can provide the appropriate info, please tell me. Otherwise...help!!!

Windows 7 x64 bit. :) See above. Thanks for the link, I will certainly check it out, see if it's got the info I need.
Alas, I get the strange french error when trying to optimize Darkloader. :( I may just have to live with the vanilla game...

Hi I have had the same problem when trying darkloader 4.3 with Thief Gold in Windows 7 64bit
It installs but then when it tries to optimize it immediately comes up with some error in french. So I don't think it even optimizes thief gold? Also isn't it meant to create a "fam" folder. It seems to be required to install orgy's texture updates.
Anyone have an idea on what to do?
