Ah, it seems like I might be getting some of these titles mixed up. I didn't know that "Heroes of Might and Magic" was strategy based... I just got the impression (from that interview) that it was an influence on DM. But if it was in the strategy genre, then I don't really see how, except for story and setting I suppose.
I would be sad to see Arx's magic-system go out of gaming history, but I guess the name-separation from Arx will give them a perfect excuse to cut it, should they wish to do so :/

Total speculation, but I would guess if there's any prospect of Arkane continuing the Arx Fatalis "name" they'd probably want to hold on to the rune-drawing system for those games. I do hope to see it again someday, wherever it pops up.

It's mainly yakking from Erwan Le Breton ("Might & Magic Content Director" at Ubisoft and, I think, assoc. producer on DM) and isn't really all that special (there's some gameplay footage, but nothing that isn't better-represented in the previous videos). Erwan's dramatic and comic delivery need a little work, too, I think.

I agree about the look of the zombies being similar to those in Arx Fatalis. The orcs also look very similar as well; which isn't a bad thing.

Not at ALL! :thumb: besides in the video, there is a glimpse of some kind of temple with monks and a torture chamber, doesn't that remind of the Akbaa Temple? I see this game like Arx 2 with more action... actually combats were not so challenging in Arx, even Ilsides were down with 2 fire balls... I expect more fun from DM :ebil:

Well, for the time being this is the Dark Messiah forum at TTLG. Considering the small amount of posters that frequent this area at the moment, it makes little sense to have a separate forum for this game. As time goes on though with more traffic and more news about the game forthcoming, we will probably look at either creating a new forum or renaming the current one I imagine.

Well despite Arx being a great game, I'd venture to say that the number of people who have played System Shock 1 or 2 far far exceeds the number who have played Arx or even heard of it.
