Ok I don't know about the rest of you but I'm constantly having to restrain myself from starting up another character but I know eventually I'll want to take a different approach (like joining a great house) so I've come up with a new custom class for you all to comment on.
Dark Knight (Dark Elf)
Combat Specialised
Strength, Willpower
The Warrior
Major
Base Race Spec Total
Long Blade (combat, strength) 30 5 5 40
Heavy Armour (combat, endurance) 30 0 5 35
Athletics (combat, speed) 30 5 5 40
Destruction (magic, willpower) 30 5 0 35
Mysticism (magic, willpower) 30 5 0 35
Minor
Axe (combat, strength) 15 0 5 20
Speechcraft (stealth, personality) 15 0 0 15
Acrobatics (stealth, strength) 15 0 0 15
Restoration (magic, willpower) 15 0 0 15
Alteration (magic, willpower) 15 0 0 15
Obviously I've gone for a heavily armoured spell casting character that could dish out quite a bit of damage. I was really tempted to fit in conjuration in there somewhere, as I like the idea of summoning golden saints but I thought it wouldn't do for a ‘Dark Knight' to summon anything to battle for him.
‘Block' is missing but that's because I only want to use double-handed weapons. I know I'm making life difficult for myself but I just like the look of double handed weapons better. While I'm discussing weapons I'd really like your advise about Long Blade and Axe - I'm tempted to make Axe my primary weapon but I'm concerned about the practicality of axes over long blades. What's your experience of double-handed axes?
I've never used magic so this would be my first foray into the arcane arts - any advise? I'm thinking particularly about swapping mysticism and restoration but I think I'd use mysticism more.
Thanks for your time. :)

I have one game as a mage and one game as a crusader. Both of these characters have acsess to the arcane arts.....espicially the mage. The problem with spell casters such as a mage is once they run out of ammo (magika) they totally depend on there artifacts and scrolls. They really cant depend on there daggers unless the excell at it because they suck with short swords and cannot use any other hand held weapons....well you can but you wont hit anything. For your Black Knight I would definently have destruction actually I would say it is a must. And I would give up that mysticism for restoration. Its nice to be able to heal and rid yourself of disease when you are in the boonies. And you might seriously consider conjuration even though you said you didnt want it. As far as axes go they are actually pretty awsome to have as are war hammers and the such. they are not the strongets of weapons but you can knock someone right on there ass with one....while they are on the ground you can beat the living crap out of them. Your choice to not go along with blocking is fine but make sure you have a major skill such as heavy or medium armor. But I am sure you already knew this

HI
Thanks very much for replying MARANDUS you make some good comments in your post and it was just the sort of reply I was looking for. :)
Unfortunately I wrote that post about a week and half ago and after a week of waiting i resigned myself to the fact I wasn't going to get a response so I just worked the character out on my own. :(
Thanks anyway.
