Okay, I really need to know this around about now:
Was there any reasonable way I was supposed to know I had to keep Akbaa's rocks!
I had two ... found two more ... were the HELL did I put the other one once I decided they were just there to look pretty?!?!? ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Now the exhaustive search of Arx fatalis's World begins ...

I did the same thing. Frustrating isn't it?
Try and remember when you had them last and work backwards, I managed to find mine after a while (I left them in a temple of illusions puzzle). The game definitely doesn't "flow" all that well, the link between quests is a bit strange. Branching conversations would be good as well, but that is being done in Arx 2 apparently.

i cant find the 5th rock either, any quick fixes?

Doh i had abandoned the rocks (3) in the 5th level right across the hardware selling brothers, but i recalled where i did dropped them, and i when back for them at the very end, and they still were there in the ground as i left them (patch 1.17 applied since the beginning).

As for your rock, one is gathered by the murder of one of the priests when entering the Akbaa bunker, and where in the little monster there is a secret switch with a skull and a candle look around the bunker...
