I don't recall seeing this documented anywhere, but maybe i just missed it...
What are the differences in in impact and rupture damage types?
I'd assume that impact is for melle damage, and rupture is protection against getting shot, but I'm not sure.
Also, how does the bulletproof cap work? Does it just reduce damage?

Not sure abour rupture, but bulletproof cap is probably the percentage that gets cut off the initial damage caused by a bullet. With 50% bulletproof you'd not lose 10, but 5 HPs. That's my guess.

Rupture damage is done by claws/teeth of beasts, while impact damage by bullets.
I guess ?
(Rupture in medicine means torn tissue, a tear in bodily tissue, or a tearing of bodily tissue).

Impact damage might be damage from events like falling excessive distances or
by objects being thrown at the character by poltergeists
by objects being thrown at the character by poltergeists That does crazy damage even when wearing a good suit.

I think it works like this: bulletproof cap is protection against all bullets, rupture protects against teeth and claws while impact protects against fall damage as well as some anomalies (those really common ones which do a bit of damage and cause bleeding, the ones you get a lot at the start).

That's probably about right. I can confirm the bit about rupture, at least. One of the anomolies that gives +5 to rupture says that you make a choice between radiation and knife wounds.
