Everyone says how easy it is to kill Dagoth Ur and just jump down and destroy the heart. I don't get it. I'm a level 33 orc warrior. I whacked on DU untill he ran out of magic then I went and whacked on the heart for about an hour. I then went back to Dagoth Ur and whacked on him some more and he fell in the lava. I went back to the heart and whacked on it some more. What am I doning wrong? Am I missing something?

Well, that would depend on what your 'whacking' the heart with. One strike from Sunder then repeated hits from Keening should destroy the heart. Then continuous 'whacking' of Dagoth Ur (with impliment of your choice) should be enough to finish him off.
(You do have Sunder and Keening, don't you...?)

Also when in the chamber with the heart, I used 'windform' to get where I wanted to go much quicker. :)

Ok, I'm a noob at this game. I do have keening but can you explain why I take damage when I equip it? Also, I don't have sunder. Where do I get that?

it would seem pretty clear that you're not going the main quest. to get sunder, go kill dagoth fagoth in a ruin inside ghostgate. he has sunder! to prevent damage from keening and sunder, kill the god vivec! r u on xbox? i'll detail more how to do this when i knoe if u r on xbox, or computer.

I play on the pc version. Where do I initiate the quest. I've been pretty good about doing all the guild quests but seems I'm missing something now. I'll check for that shrine then come back and see if you've replied for my details I so desparately need. Thanks!

Sunder is in the ruins of Vemynal, on the northwest side of Red Mountain inside of the Ghostfence. Destroy Dagoth Vemyn inside to claim Sunder. to resist damage from keening/ sunder, you need wraithguard!!! go to vivec. go in vivec palace. make sure you have a ton!!! of restore health/ magica. and a ton of weapons!!! unlock vivec palace door (or get key from archcanon in high fane) and fight vivec! you can kill him, but it takes a long time!!! when you kill him, take the unique dwemer artifact? and go to tel fyr!!! tel fyr is south/west of sadrith mora. go to the corpusarium and talk to Yargrum Bargan? he is a dwarf. he can activate Wraithguard! he will only do this if you have more than 201 health points. wait... maby its more than 220? oh well. when he activates the wraithguard, put it on. you can now resist the shock of sunder and keening. now, go slice the heart 1 time with keening, then BASH THE HELL out of it with the hammer sunder. when you kill him, go back to the top and watch the statue destroy!!! now, out the door you came from and get the ring from azura!

You know the orders you had to give the package to Caius Cosades in Balmora? That's the start of the main quest. You get a whole long trail of quests that explains the story and sets you up to bump off Dagoth Ur. Sorry's root is a special back way for people that break the main quest. You'll get Wraithguard soon enough.

i would suggest you start over and follow every direction you get. the quest giver is ciaus cascades???? in balmora.

Caius isn't in balmora anymore. Not sure where I went wrong. I just recently cleared the temple for that tribe to be safe in and they named me the Nevarine I guess. I am guild leader in the Ald Ruhn warriors guild. Ok, I'll try and make things happen with what ya'll told me. Thanks for the help and if you think of anything, please post. This is my first character. hehe
