Anyone here think that Dagoth Ur was way to easy for a final boss? I killed him with one spell. Just wondering.
RyushiBlade on 12/7/2003 at 17:36
Meh, he was pretty easy. His spells hurt me a bit, but that was all.

Try him with Melee, I think thats pretty hard. Was for me at 23.

Morrowind is a (comparatively) non-linear game. One of the ramifications of this is that you're progression through the game is not limited by time or level. It is (theoretically) possible to fight Dagoth Ur at level 1 - As soon as the tutorial finishes and you start the game outside the Customs & Excise office, you could start to trek off to fight him immediately. It would be highly unlikely that you could reach Ghostgate, let alone Dagoth Ur itself, but it is possible. But the chances of you reaching the Facility Cavern and defeating him are essentially zero. Post-patch, it would depend quite a lot on the Difficulty slider as well, I suppose.
In other words, it depends rather a lot on how powerful your character is, your inventory, your level etc. For example, my first character reached Dagoth Ur at Level 21, with maxed-out Long Blade and a Daedric Dai-Katana, but with only a poor-quality mess of different armor (A combination of Dragonscale, Imperial Chain and Imperial Steel) only medium statistics, and NO enchanted items. I defeated him and won the Main Quest, but it took several reloads and would have been impossible without healing potions. In contrast, a Level 30 or more character with heavy weapons, full Ebony armor, lots of spells and enchantments etc., could probably kick Dagoth's ass with their eyes closed.
It really depends on your character. I think non-linearity is cool.

RyushiBlade on 13/7/2003 at 22:51

I was using a spell that I made. Not the most powerful one in my arsenal, but good enough. It was 50 frost damage in 15 feet for 6 seconds. Cost 133 magicka. Point at target, pull trigger, kiss target goodbye.

Wow that alotta magicka points to cast that nasty spell, btw i use about the samn way but did u know if u max out willpower and destruction and that spells are much cheaper to cast. Anyway i imbued my arrows so i can shoot like a loose cannon, cant wait til my enchant skill is max out. I also noticed there are not very many Grand/Azura Soul Gems can be found in Vvardenfell.
Can find those Gems in crates or other spots, and noticed if you dont take anything it will respawn something new in the furture is that true? For example i looked into a crate and found lesser soul gem and other craps and didnt take anything. A month later i came back and looked into that crate again and? will it respawn something different or the samn items was before?
I havent gotten that far yet or meet Dagoth of any kind, im sure i will someday.
BTW i guess fatman was playing Breton with "The Mage" birthsign. get a whoppin' magicka points, for instance 100 intelligence give you 200 magicka points to play with. And i think Bretons are ugly lol. My favorite race is Wood Elves only female, the third one from the default (clockwise) plus blond hairs (Hair_Pack II). That elf is the most pretty of all to me except that on with red rose armor with necklace and tiara from Hair_Pack II. Here the picture if you wanna see. Hmm cant import a picture in here why?
I was told this new face will be added as a plugin someday dunno when.

Actually, I use a High Elf under the birthsign of the mage. I use mentor ring, robe of the drakes pride, necromancers amulet to put my int. at 145. I currently have about 435 magicka points, and am thinking of enchanting to get it up to about 215 int, which would give me over 700 magicka points!

Nice Fatman, but how you gonna deal with magic resist creatures? My Arcane Archer has all three fields (Archer/Magic/Melee). Dont relies on magics all the time, there will be something else for more challanges somewhere in Vvardenfell.
