Sounds like you found the Dren plantation:cheeky:
There's some very sweet stuff there. Be warned, though - that feathered helm (Indoril) is sacred to the Ordinators of Vivec. If they see you wearing their armor, they'll hunt you down like a dog! :p If you are on a PC and are interested in wearing it without getting tormented in Vivec and Ghostgate (and also Molag Mar, I believe) you might want to hunt down a plugin that fixes this problem. I'm sure there are a few around. Check Morrowind Summit and Morrowind Files for a ton of plugins.
The daedric dikatana you find in the guard tower of the Dren plantation is definately awesome - one of the most deadly weapons in the game, even BEFORE you enchant it! However, you might want to leave it somewhere safe and try out Umbra's sword for a while. Daedric stuff is awesome, but very weighty. It takes a strong character to wear daedric armor and still move!
You will find a lot of nifty enchanted items before too long and soon discover that most merchants have too little gold to buy them from you. There are a few options available if you really want to sell high priced items, but personally, I like to simply keep them. I find a nice house in a town with a mages' guild, like Balmora, then make myself at home. I can drop off all my extra items there when I get too heavy and packrat away everything I gather while adventuring. Then I can look upon my countless, priceless artifacts and cackle with glee!
If you want your own house (instead of taking over someone else's), I'd once again suggest looking for plugins. There are a ton of house mods floating about. I like "A Good Place to Stay" in Balmora, but there are many to choose from. Some come with associated quests, and others must be purchased. Owning your own home adds a whole new dimension to Morrowind - suddenly no item is safe! (you should see my library!:ebil: )
Good luck!

Umbra's sword??? Are you crazy? No seriously, i'm only at level 20 and he kicked my #ss 4 times in a row, that's with the help of one boneshaker (I enchanted a Orcish Cuirass), two Ancestor ghosts (rings) and a skamper? (belt) + one skeleton scroll. All that for his helm which I still didn't get.
Then I go to Molag mar and lifted one of the Merchant no probs, Then I went into the Molag Mar sewers and found another on a corpse, LOL. I think Orcish armor is deffinately the way to go, its got a higher rating then just about everything else and medium armor is a minor skill at about 87 right now.

Err, sorry!
The same thing happened to me the first time I found Umbra. He is one tough orc! I got him eventually though . . . practice makes perfect!
I like orcish armor also - it looks cool and has a nice medium armor class.
Good luck in your adventures!

Eh... Umbra was a bit anticlimactic. I took pity on him for having the same trouble as Ryushi, so I thought, "Here's a good fight." And I admit, it was a good fight. I took him down in 4 hits... *sigh* Long live Umbra. His curse has been lifted, and placed upon me.
You should see my collection of items on the XBox. I keep only the best... Artifacts, Daedric, Orcish, Dwemer... other misc. stuff. I have a few books but no a library. I kinda took all the books I had and built a giant tower just outside Odai Plateau. It goes pretty high too. I call it 'The Monument of Books.' Good, eh?
I really wouldn't recommend fighting Umbra until... I don't know. Level 25? 30 maybe? You shouldn't have a problem then. Or if your good at marksman you can get up somewhere high or use levitate then shoot at him.
One last thing. Is Umbra's sword the only Ebony Claymore in the game? I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

Kfort, no, some blonde whore told me about this stupid ugly lake that it was thrown in, so I went to the bottom of it, and it was stuck in a damn stone...
So I drug out the stone from the water, and pissed on the stone.
The stone dissolved giving me my Daedric Axe.
It says so in the Hadith.

I actually got Umbra at level 6. :cheeky: whitout cheating. I pissed on him!

Did the acid dissolve his armor, then?

Umbra is my favorite MW character.
I swear, he's Tuco in orc form.
sappe on 9/4/2003 at 15:09
