Hey everyone, gotta make this short. Got T3 on my comp so I'm getting ready to do some objs ect. Don't have much time to surf so I was wondering if I could get some quick links to any tools needed for obj conversion.
I think I have TIMtoE and photoshop dds tools.

You'll need 3DS Max 5.1 to compile objects. Smeshes, ragdolls, AI meshes, skeletons, even texture properties all have have to come through it.
No option, no choice, at least not yet.

Yep, got it. Guess I should check for plugins/tuts at an Unreal site eh?
Has anyone released any custom stuff yet?

The plugins you'll need come with the TDS editor - the Unreal ones won't work for us.
As for relesed content, er...
I think Str8g8 released the stuff that came with the Bridge, but and BrendaEM's new textures, but I think that's about it apart from the likes of the texture and minimalist packs.

thanks guys, found the tools, but realized I have Max 5.0. Doesn't seem to want to export with matlib :(

Alright, that first link had a Max 5.1 update :D Gonna try it out (cross fingers, rubs hands, ect...)

Well, I installed the update. Now I get 2 errors instead of 1.
1-program ailed to initialized-can't find Ion shader.
2-and the matlib error I got before the update.
Has anyone had this prob? it said reinstalling the program might fix it, but I'd prefer to not have to reinstal Max.

What have you actually done - I remember there's a few daft things like having to have the Ion Root system variable and stuff to get it to play nice, and sometimes you have to copy the shaders somewhere else too.

Be sure you listed the plugins correctly in th Configure Paths dialog box (under Customize). I seem to remember they had to be in the correct order. Mine are listed as:
Standard MAX plug-ins
Additional MAX plug-ins
HardwareShaders
Stdplugs
Plugins
MatLib
T3Mat
Followed by the paths to my textures.
