Ok...here are my pertinent specs:
Windows XP Pro
Geforce 2 MX 32 MB (With latest Detonator Drivers)
Using NO CD Crack
The game runs like a dream...except randomly (maybe every half hour or so) the game boots me to the desktop with no error message. What is causing this problem? Will it be fixed in the patch? Also, I am getting a Gainward Geforce 4 Ti 4200...will this fix the problem?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

I'm getting the exact same thing.
One really weird thing I've noticed is that it always happens at
a certain point from Balmora to Pelagiad....

Yea. I get this crash rather often too. sometimes it's not very often and other times it is VERY often. So I quick save as much as I remember. I also have a tendency to "jump" all the time (now I can jump super damn far!) and look letf to right at the same time to fill in my map.
It's pretty much a given (but not everytime) that if I hit one of those quick zone changes while doing the jump look thing I'll crash to the desktop.
I did dload the new Detonator Drivers that were released the other day and it was twice as bad. Rolled back to the older driver and it seems a bit more stable now.
I hope they release a patch soon tho. It is really frustrating when I see my desktop out of no where.
Atleast I'm not alone.

I haven't seen any computer program that hasn't crashed yet... What's the big deal with morrowind, it's no different than other computer programs.

I think they have more of an issue with the frequency than the crashes. If it crashed after 7-8 hrs, I'd say it was my fault for running the game that long. On the other hand, if it crashes after less than 2 hrs then it's the game's fault.

For me the crashes seem to have gotten worse the farther along in the game I got. The first 2 or 3 days, there were no crashes. Then they were rare, maybe every 2 or 3 hours (if I played for that long). Now they happen about every 10 minutes, which is making the game almost unplayable.

Will lowering sound acceleration lower my sound quality? Also, I went to viaarena.com and downloaded the v 4.38 4 in 1 drivers, which slightly improved my stability...still the patch better fix the problem!

This random crash thing is really a menace. For me it's totally random when it crashes but otherwise the game runs well. Sometimes I can play an hour or so but when I'm out of luck the game crashes after 2 minutes or the like.
There must be a way to fix this; I hope.

You know... when I'm playing the game, I swear I see messages flash on the screen saying:
I need more ram... more... MORE!!!!...
Maybe I'm just seeing things
