This is a really dark level. I can only seriously play it at night. But that's not my problem. In the cemetary there are a couple of things happening. One is at the gravesite of Morgan? whose ghost lounges around, waiting for something to happen, I guess. I found out pretty quick jumping into the grave was nasty. I thought that was the entrence to the lower sections. Eventually I clued in and now he's happy, I hope. But I still can't access his wall safe. Where is the key for that?
The other hole is in a crypt. I never survive the drop. Is there something to do first? Does this involve the contents of the wall map?

I never found the key to his wall safe, either. However, due to a bug, I was able to grab all of the stuff in the safe right through the safe door. I asked a question about the location of the key awhile back but didn't get a response.
Is there wood above that you can shoot a rope arrow into and then climb down? It's been awhile, so maybe I'm wrong.

Honestly, I don't remember where the key is to open the wall safe.. I don't remember it being necessary to finish the mission.. I think there are just a few flash bombs in there or something...
As for the hole in the crypt.. It's really too dark to see, but there's a piece of wood on the floor by the hole... You can waste a fire arrow to see where it is, or just face the wall that's closest to the hole, shoot a rope arrow right above the top of the hole, and hope it sinks into the wood... That'll give you a rope to slide down..
Great mission, by the way..one of my favorites.. You'll have a lot of fun once you get down there.. It's a tricky one, though, so be prepared for some traps and a few challenging puzzles..

You can get the key to the safe by taking him to the grave beside his sweetheart. The key appears in the air by the grave, I think.
To get down the hole in the crypt, use a rope arrow. It goes into a wooden part that just above the hole (Below the stained glass window).

Thank you one and all. I'll go back to the game in a few hours, when the natural light in the room is gone and I can see what I'm doing. I thought of using a rope arrow but couldn't find anything for it to attach to. But I was looking at the ceiling, not the wall. Silly me.
I'll have to go back to before I deposited the corpse of Morgan and he thanked me to see if a key appears. Thanks Nightwalker....nice to see you back.

I wondered when I took the ladder down how I was going to get back up, but thought retrieving the talisman of Ramises would open an exit. But it didn't. There is a force field leading to a couple of haunt gaurds and what appears to be 2 separate hidden passageways in the room with a circular lava pool. They haven't opened for me either. I've run around looking for switches, and tried using the speed potion to jump up to the ladder. I've tried hacking a statue in order to stack the pieces bringing me close enough to the ladder but the statue wouldn't break. I roped back down to the area which contained the talisman, thinking I may have missed a switch there but found nothing.
I shot rope arrows all over looking for some place it would take hold, remembering how I got down here in the first place. Finally, I loaded a recent save and looked around the area before descending the ladder for a way to turn off the force field, even killing the guards so I could explore at my leaisure. Nothing.
Am I going to be embarrassed again by the solution to this.
In case you didn't pick it up all of the notes, one tells you to destroy the gold skulls for access to the tombs. Hint: think "incinerate"
Thanks Brian.....I must have missed that note. Which puts me in a bad spot. How many other notes have I missed. I think I'm gonna have to start this level over again. Because there is no going back at the point where you descend the ladder. So I can't return to retrieve any information I missed.

Actually, you CAN get back up that ladder
but only after you've thrown the gold skulls into the lava
Grab a couple of those boulders (rubble) in the stairway and place them under ladder/hole. If the boulder is in the right position, you can do a short run and jump and grab the ladder and get back out. It took me at least 15 attempts, but I was able to do it.
There were 4 notes (I think) that you were supposed to grab. The location of each note was mentioned in another note. They give you some hints about what to do and what to expect in the tombs. You may not need them if you're really good about exploring everything/everywhere. Of course, since you missed the notes, maybe starting over isn't such a bad idea. :p

Yes, I see now that I could use some boulders to climb up to the ladder. The notes, I assume are the "Papyrus" that speaks of the various tombs. But the papyrus that relates to Ramises doesn not mention golden skulls ! But why would a different papyrus need to mention this point. Very confusing. Unless the information about the skulls is NOT in one of the four papyrus, but a separate note exclusive of those four. I guess I have to go on a scavenger hunt for anything that speaks to exiting the tomb of Ramises.
