Some lads from my neck of the woods went over to Sweden to take part in their Eurovision tryouts, with an ode to the sauna. We're all very proud of them and hope they win.

Heh, so they did win! :D I don't normally care about "humour bands" so much, but this song is so damn catchy and it doesn’t try too hard to be funny.
Nowadays you can't even turn on the TV or have a look at some news site without getting instantly depressed, so I actually look forward to KAJ becoming a phenomenon in this corner of the world this spring.

One of my favorite YouTube jazz pianists, JiminDorothy, released a great set (5 tunes) with a quintet, but I don't know how into jazz y'all are.

Even more accessible is Vulfpeck's concert, Clarity of Cal (Live from the Palladium)

Excellent composition and general production. Tune of the day.
The one thing which annoys me slightly about most prog though (especially newer), is that it sounds like the whole tune revolves around a single voice. It puts the whole thing at risk of plodding along and breaks the illusion of music a bit ((
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Zagcvo1-3c) case in point. I think it's caused by having a lead guitarist being the main musician and everyone else is following their lead).
Not all music needs to do everything though, and there's always the fundamentals lying around to rediscover.

Agreed though when it is a certain voice...
I know I've posted this before but I feel this story. Never miss a chance to lose yourself in the fire.

I'm going to post an old country song that my wife and I used to hear at a jeans factory we worked at when we first met. It was in rotation. I was not a fan of country at the time but there was something about this one. But first my last work story. Last one I can post.
Some of you know who visit the members only section that I have had quite the rounds with my last boss at the glass place where I worked. He bought it mid last year. Since then I have been fired three times. The first was when I was in the back cutting glass and his girlfriend drove up next to the office. I went up front to see who this was and found her beyond the office in a deeper office. "Excuse me, can I help you?" When she turned I recognized her. Too late because the damage had been done. I did not genuflect in the proper way to the queen. She said she was thinking of redecorating. Fine, just don't move these specific papers because they are important and apply to the various desk top glasses for dorm rooms on the Ole Miss campus. I've got to get back to work. I did.
I get a call from my previous boss saying how important she is and I disrespected her. WTF? I was business like and not rude. No. She took offense. Fine. I will apologize though it sounds crazy. Nope. My current boss comes while I'm finishing up a glass order and tells me he will beat my ass and end me. Nah. I said nothing to her I would not say to any customer. No. You know what you said. No, I don't, tell me. Nothing in response. He leaves but tells me not to bother coming to work. Fine. I get a call over the weekend that I can come back. Okay, whatever.
The second time was when I ended the day 15 minutes early to go to the bank because I had worked through lunch and needed to cash my check and get money from my moms account for my mooching brother to live on. Don't bother to show up Monday. Okay. Then Sunday I get a text to come in Monday. Okay. I kind of figured he had hired his cousin that he was going to replace me anyway. Cousin went on to greener pastures.
Third time was when he had not given me the W2 tax form in time to file and I was getting worried because that shit would mess up my retirement. He kept stalling and lying. I caught him in several lies. I printed all checks he had given me which apparently he had not paid tax on from my bank. I got my ducks in a row. I needed the sales date from my old boss to my new boss so I called my old boss. I explained how bogus this all was and how badly it was going to affect me. Immediately after my call old boss calls new boss and new boss calls to tell me I am fired. I only needed information for the IRS when shit goes down I told him. No. He knows what I said about him. I said nothing. Just getting my ducks in a row for my CPA to file. Nope I'm fired. Don't bother showing up Friday. Fine.
I go to Certified Public Accountant who I have used for thirty years and file using a missing W2 form. New boss had also called me on the last day of the deadline to get me to a site for W9 and fill out information I later found out was to declare me an independent contractor which is ridiculous because I have worked 8 to 5 for 40 years and nobody in their right mind would think after all this time being an employee I would suddenly be that. I call the IRS to inform them of the situation. Later that day I'm told by my current employer that I can go by the CPA that he had claimed to have replaced with another because they did not do right and pick up my W2. I do. I go back to my CPA and give it to them to file. Current boss lets me know that after I calm down I can come back to work. Fuck that. I leave that hanging.
Next week on the first of April I will retire. It is early but if my wife and I both do it now it will be nearly what I make working now. I nearly fought him three times. I cannot take a fourth. Even knowing the shit storm that would cause I know I will snap at some point. Better to retire now. I hate to leave my workmates with so much to do that I would help with but I have to go. Sanity demands it. Also I picture Mel Gibson screaming "FREEEEEEDOOOOOM". I go by and pick up my last check and shake hands with my coworkers who all like me. I like them too.
So the song running through my head? Much of my life was on the road.

Heard this one and thought Republicans would agree without irony.

Then that reminded me of this old country tune from back when country people were more savvy.

Not that I even have to hit an alarm or pay attention to what day it is anymore.
