That Ginger Root song is fab. I dunno what's been going on the last few years, but it seems like the kids are getting weird again and I'm here for it.

In about five weeks time, Wolfgang Flür will play in Glasgow. I've got a ticket.

I've only ever seen Ralf & Florian twice. Karl Bartos solo only once. But so far, never Wolfgang Flür. He's 77 by now, and it will probably just be a Kraftwerk remix DJ set, but that's good enough for me, I'm too old to dance anyway.
[Edit]
Bonus Boings live.

I've been an admirer of Andrew Bird's stuff for a while, but it's an old song of his that's stuck in my head right now. It doesn't feature his signature whistling, but it has a gorgeous melody, with some pizzicato that I just can't get enough of, and a lovely vocal line. To paraphrase a youtube comment, it's happiness with melancholy at the edges, and that sounds about right.

It has been so hot this summer. A sort of heat that drains you of energy. A sort of heat that takes your dignity and makes you wipe a bead of sweat from the tip of your nose in front of a pretty young college girl. There is no heat like Mississippi heat. You just survive it and hope it will pass but without actual hope of it doing so.
So today when I stepped onto my porch holding moms elbow for her morning cigarette and it was seventy with a northern breeze it was like a dream where you remember a thing which cannot be. A wonderful thing. Something in the dim reaches of memory. A thing promised but not believed. Windows were thrown open. Air streams considered. Out of every dusty corner the stale pushed and filled with new lovely air. A truly gorgeous day. A day of wafting curtains and naps. A day of hammocks and books. A day of blue sky that lasted as if the far cool of the atmosphere dipped with just the right taste of alien reaches beyond wonder.
So I thought of this song, and because I have it, played it. It was perfect.

Enough time that only two of them are alive today. Man, I miss George.
Been going through Baroness's older albums because psych hard rock needed more love on the playlist, and wondering why I never tried Yellow & Green before now. Purple's still their masterwork, but this one's strong enough to be almost as good.

ooh darn i used to listen to this band alot. I like their albums from rage for order(1986) to empire(1990). Geoff tate surely has pipes to sing power-metal voice / scream style. This band somehow reminds me of a band called Fates Warning.
