Lately, I've been getting into works by Iannis Xenakis:

Annoying at times, but never boring. I quite like the first one; great buildup and pausing. I think, in general, Xenakis' percussive stuff is the most accessible. The third one gets a little more challenging.
These people I just recently found out about:

Quite accessible, even poppy—compared to Xenakis—but it never gets boring either.

@qolelis - You can play all four videos you posted at the same time, which sounds really trippy. :joke:

Congratulations, you just discovered a new Xenakis piece, forgotten by time. :joke:
Heh, I had to try that now and, yeah, it actually sounds pretty cool, although I think the first three works the best together. As pleasing as the fourth is, it could have worked as a nice contrast, but I find it struggling a bit to keep up with the crazy.
I started with the first two in a loop (including the intro sound for the second) and then, after almost one full set of the first, I slowly introduced the third, fading it into a massive brickwall of noise while still keeping the percussion. Adding the fourth felt like being really mean to someone who's just being genuinely nice, albeit a little naïve. Could perhaps work better by fading out the brickwall first.
Also, that theorbo has such a "my lute is bigger than your dad" vibe.

If YouTube had sliders for adjusting tempo we all could become TTLG DJ's. :joke:

Better than the original. Speaks to my pagan soul.

Awww yeah I like this album. The cover may look like it was designed by Tim & Eric but the music is cool as hell.

Xenakis is awesome
Listening to this and imagining what country music would be like if it weren't so lame now.

It is interesting (perhaps not surprising) that country music has become a new front in the culture wars (tm) in the States recently.
I made my own album and released it - it's free to download (or just stream): (

I don't actively contribute here much anymore but still lurk, I've always posted my music here in the past (with fond/traumatic memories) so although I wanted to again, it didn't like it warranted a whole new thread!

The Matrixbrute is one of those textbook synths that I think is cool to look at but probably impossible to play well, but as with any good synth, when someone knows what they're doing...

Edit: Apparently Youtube generates playlists for us now, which is where I got this. Well I can't complain with the (

YouTube playlists are sometimes good and sometimes not so great.
Here's a non-computer generated playlist University of Washington affiliated radio station that has great human generated playlists. The best thing besides great programing is that they show the archive of each show a couple weeks back so you can go back and find stuff you liked and look it up on Spotify or whatever app you are using. So when you get tired of playing DJ check this out: (
