If you've kept up, you know I usually shave my head and grow a stupid goatee, much like Rob Halford in those Judas Priest videos, except I started doing that before he was losing his hair. I clearly can't claim that he copied me, I just want to address the jury that I did it first.
But, since March 12 2020, almost exactly a year ago, I have not shaved my head again. Initially, it was a lame protest against how terribly my UK government was handling Covid, but then it became a Thing, so I kept it. Downside is that now, when I walk out of the shower, I look like I was in a 1986 Skinny Puppy video. Except fatter and wrinklier, and a little bit less covered in fake blood and faeces.

Yeah, I make terrible fashion choices.
[Edit]
Buglunch would laugh heartily at that reference. I miss him.
I never planned to look like Nivek Ogre, so I find it quite weird that I accidentally do. But clearly, with a much grumpier sarcastic annoying face.

I hate to double post, but I just reminded myself of the most intense live gig I've ever been to.
It was, of course, Skinny Puppy.
At that point in my life, I had been to quite a lot of live gigs and rock festivals, but this particular show completely blew me away. It was a full 90 minute face melting complete assault on the senses. Skinny Puppy was touring for their new album The Greater Wrong Of The Right (fuck you GWB), and I had sort of dismissed them as has-beens, given that it had been several years since their last album and that was pretty weak, due to their massive drug taking and the death of their sample sound genius Dwayne Goettel. Low expectations. How very wrong I was.
I don't think any youtube video can convey what it feels like to be punched in the face for 90 minutes and enjoying it, but here's a clip off that tour.

Clearly, before Ogre drenched himself in fake blood and got REALLY angry.
[Edit]
A softer, gentler side of misery, with their lovely ballad Worlock, very heavy of some lovely vocoding, Charles Manson samples and sarcasm. It's for the kids.

Okay now I have to post this again.

I can sort of see your point, but to me, it's more like a mock/tribute band, poking fun at the spirit of the 80s while failing to capture it. Your opinion may differ, but I almost see them as an insult, although I suspect that was not their intent. Homage, perhaps, but it doesn't hit home with me. If I want metal sarcasm, I'm more inclined to go KMFDM or this. Scathing, yet wonderful.

Awful in the same way as Rammstein and others. They are playing with (and fostering) the fascination with ze evil German. It's just Nazi adoration through the backdoor.

There is no escape...

In the dead of night
She'll come and take you away
Searing beams of light and thunder
Over blackened plains
She will find her way
Flying high through the night
She will hide your fate
As she takes your soul from under
And the blinding light of the castle fades
There is no escape
It's the ending of your precious life
Your soul slipped away
It belongs to the Queen of the Reich
The Queen of the Reich
Yeah she's coming for you
You're fading away
Your life cast astray
A victim the beast shall obtain
The light will not shine
For you'll die tonight at her shrine
And black is the last thing you'll see
Over and over
Dreams of dying fill your head
It's the sign of the cross
That you'll find ahead
No one will answer
The light is fading away
Captive souls are screaming out in pain
There is no escape
It's the ending of your precious life
Your soul slipped away
It belongs to the Queen of the Reich
You're fading away, no, no, no
The Queen of the Reich
You're slipping away, yeah
The Queen of the Reich

Damn right it's a mock band poking fun at hair metal. It's funny as hell and good as well. You got to laugh at metal. It's just not that serious. Matter of fact, the more serious music wants to take itself the more funny it often is. Not that these guys are serious or ever were but they nail it and I have to disagree. It's fun.
Anyway I was watching A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night which is a weird vampire love story and they had a few songs in it. I liked like this one-

Also they had one from the movie My Name is Nobody which was also in A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night which is a strange crossover from a western- one of the best ever made- to an Iranian vampire flick but works somehow. I'll post it too. The video is of the Henry Fonda scene where he fights a hundred bad guys by himself. The black bags have dynamite in them BTW. They are a hundred bad guys with dynamite coming to kill one man.
You should see My Name is Nobody. It is fucking epic.
